GENERAL CHANGES



Just a heads up, new test notes out and im sure you will like some of the changes.


HIGHLIGHTS:

Housing Changes - Make the ranger lodge of your dreams now with almost double to item space

Inventory Changes - Keep more of your stuff on your person. Such things as traps, camps etc should be less of a burden now

Inventory


  • Inventory has been increased to now hold 80 items

Structures


  • All Housing item limits have been changed. This will mean that small houses can now store 100 items for a Naboo small house, and 200 for the the other small and medium houses. Large houses and Guild Halls can now store 400 items each instead of being limited to 250 items each
  • Large houses should now take up 5 lots instead of 6.
  • Guild halls should now take up 5 lots instead of 7.
  • Fixed a problem that can cause items dropped into a structure to disappear after you leave the structure and re-enter the structure later.
  • You will now be able to interface with a structure from 30meters instead of 10 meters (no more having to be within touching distance of the structure factory in order to change its settings.
  • Fixed when you are too far from a structure to /name, /paymaint you get a message "You are too far from the terminal to purchase a ticket."

Profession Smuggler


  • Smugglers no longer have an artificial faction point cap when buying faction points. The cap is their actual point cap. Signing up with the faction will make a larger bribery option available, and rising in ranks will increase the cap as per normal factional progression.

Profession Combat Medic, Doctors and Medics


  • The total amount of time delay between Medic wound healing has been reduced to a third of the original delay.

Profession Entertainer / Dancer / Musician


  • The minimum time required to watch an Entertainer before having a mind buff applied has been reduced from 2 minutes to 1 minute.
  • It nowtakes half as long to apply an Entertainer mind buff.
  • It nowtakes a quarter of the time it used to take to heal Mind/Focus/Willpower wounds.

All Professions


  • Removed all apprentice XP requirements from all professions
  • Decreased Incapacitation Time by 50%

UI


  • Group leaders are now able to invite players from anywhere in the Galaxy.
  • Fixed a problem where selecting "No Title" for a character (found under Community - Character UI page) would not persist between sessions.
  • An option to display faction rank has been added to the Community - Character UI page. When enabled, the faction rank will be displayed above your character (just below the character name).
  • An option was added to turn off game object arrows on the radar
  • An option was added to turn off friendly NPCs from radar
  • All skills with three line names now appear correctly in skills window

Profession Artisan


  • Fixed the over brightening of the surveying effect

Space


  • The yacht, the yt1300, the Devastator, and the Nova Courier should not longer take up a lot space.

Combat


  • Wounded players can no longer migrate stats that would result in a sum total of 0 or less due to wounds causing permanent incapacitation

Server Stability


  • Improved client stability

Chat


  • Added a “CNTRL + R” command for replying to “/tells”. Reply currently has the issue of replying to the last person that sent you a message. So, if you /reply to someone and you receive a message in the middle of the response, your private message is sent to another player. This is now fixed by changing CTRL+R to send a “tell” the player who sent you the last message at the time you hit CTRL+R.

Japanese Localizations


  • /log will now save Japanese chat correctly
  • Chat messages can be in Japanese in macros!
  • IME candidate window now appears relative to the text being typed





Hope there are some good things in there for you, even if they are not ranger related.

Future publishes are going to be like this too (DevTyrant is excited about what they have planned)



Now for those doubters ...... ..... There was a reason i was ranting on about the new dev team investment, now look what its bringing us (and more to the point look at the frequency of the publishes)

Simply a great patch even if there aren't any Ranger specific parts. I'm glad to see the Smuggler getting some love. This has to mean we aren't that far away Heck, if my favorite baseball team (Red Sox) can actually win a World Series I figure there's hope for Rangers

man what a patch.It looks like the Antarus Academy for Hunting and Fishing (currently in the wonderful city of Hunter Hollow, Dantooine (Eclipse server) will have to upgrade to a large house, since I like having lots of random junk in there to give ita "realistic" feel.


By the way, the Antarus Academy has a "Student Art Gallery" where I put up some great pictures. Right now, what I've been doing is giving different Rangers credit for different pictures. The Rangers I selected with the first group were people on Eclipse (Frederick has the Blue Leaf Temple, for example) but I'm currently expanding my list to people who I know from the forums or have played with on other servers (Paks is going to get the Wookie Matriarch painting whenever I can find one). Let me know if you want to be immortalized on my wall of fame. I might not have room for everyone, but I'll do my best.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Now that is a class idea! I like it.

Once I've got the patch downloaded and have time to tinker with acouple of things I'm going to be pushing whatever or wherever I can to have the item limit on all buildings worked on a straight n items/plot basis. I really can't see any logic in there being an artificial cap on PA halls. Anyhow, that's not really rangerly, so I'll stop ranting about it in here.

Removed AP requirement for master?

I don't know, is it THAT difficult to get AP? I'm concerned that if it is removed they may replace it with some insane amount of XP to 'justify' having the master rank at all.

Gaining AP at least results in some interaction between players. It encourages people to help each other and at least gives a hint that Master means something. I know that some professions can be mastered in a matter of hours with little or no player interaction (I've done them) but eventually you DO need to get out of that med centre or away from the crafting station and speak to other players and train them up.

Removing AP as a requirement for Master doesn't seem to add anything to the game apart from reinforcing the notion that it's some sort of solo race to the top. I can't speak for other profs, but I think it's potentially bad for the Ranger community.

I agree as well but what AP is meant to be and what it has become are two completly different things. It was meant for player interaction for us to teach other players skills. What it became were training someone in hunting/explore 1 or ranged support 1 repeatedly. Mostly it hurt the new players when they hit master scout or master marksman. So its death is probaly more due to principal then to some desire to flood the market with masters.

Now that being said the devs were trying to make mastering a profession mean something and until we see whats replacing AP is this the case?

I like what they are doing for the most part. I am still waiting to scroll down and see..........



Profession Ranger

Maskscent is now unbreakable by Kreetles.

Cammo applied to a Ranger is now unbreakable.

Master Rangers can now take all resources from creatures.

Battle Fatigue is now healable in the High Tech Field Base.

Terrain Negotiation starting at Novice Ranger is applied while upright, instead of being crawl speed only.



Jedi grouping with a Master Ranger will now be charged automatically 50k for the service. This will offset the Jedi trying to underpay for being in the presence of a Master ranger.
