Ok i'm thinking of setting up a ranger/scout shop, and these are the things I'd like to offer up:
1. traps
2. camps
3. camo kits
4. veghash
5. mask/camo clothing (some with inj/wound mod as well)
6. hunting pets (lotsa cats)
7. PUPs (both ranged and melee)
8. swoops (singles and crated)
9. bait and tackle.
What am I missing? Would you shop there?

It's true. Icky is for teh win!
Cant think of anything else you might want to add, but I'd be happy to lend a hizzand if its wanted.
Infact, the only thing I can think of to add would be resources. Strange yes, but a vendor for crafters to come and buy the recent Tatooine Avian meat or some such.

Ditah,
Here are some more items, when I was thinking of creating a store.
Low ham weapons and armor.
If you read the fighting unbuffed thread in this forum, you could provide these weapons, and strike up some deal with weaponsmiths and armorsmiths to make low ham weapons, chitin and mabari armor. That way a ranger or other profession who play their game unbuffed has really a central location for their supplies, on top of the ranger/scout products.
Just a thought.

Nice idea, but most of that is based on what my alts can do. I could strike up a deal with my guild AS/WS.

Yea, I did not mean buy 3 more accounts and be self sufficent. I meant strike deals with other players. I really did not believe Fodder at first about Armorsmith's being open to make something else besides uber composite and ubese armor, but the ones I have talked to jumped at the chance to do some research and build Mabari and chitin armor. I have found the weaponsmiths to be a little more elitist and it may take a couple of emails to find a open-minded WS to help you out. Like I said, it is just a suggestion and wish you the best of luck with your business.
Also in another thread, someone said to have your city place a scout and ranger trainer next to your merchant tent/house that way people can get trained and buy supplies at the same time.

Just thinking RE resources. You'd have to have some kind of financial plan as to buying and selling prices. Its no good someone putting thier Tat Avian up for 60cpu, and then you selling it for 60cpu. Unless of course you dont want to make a profit out of this venture.
Im trying to think of a senario where the "forum price" for a resource is for example 60cpu, and the hunter would want to sell to you for 55cpu, and you take a 5cpu profit after someone comes along and buys from your vendor.
You could of course use a resources vendor as a sort of "bazaar" for animal products. The hunter offers to the vendor for X price, and you then list it at X price, but only after the hunter bank tips you a standard "listing fee". The more units of one resource they put up, the more their fixed listing price is spread out. (Why pay the fixed fee of 1,000 credits for 500 units of meat, when they can pay the fixed fee of 1,000credits to list 30,000 units of meat).

Actually i was just thinking about location. I don't live in a city, so that's out, as is the trainer idea. Should I put it close to Theed in the merchant sprawl? Or be more creative and put it way out somewhere that a ranger would enjoy driving/riding/walking to?

Well a mini-suit is ; helmet, chest, gloves, and boots.
These are the places that get "hit" in a fight.
In a full suit, you will get hit and the damage is spread across all pieces for that area ( head/mind, body/health and leg/action ) as is the wear on the armor.
A mini-suit will get you lower encumbrance and more spots for bio-clothes and in return the pieces will decay faster because there are less pieces to distribute across.
Hopefully this will change in the CURB but that's months and months from now :/
A tantel/chitin mini-suit with matching bio-clothes is on top of my ranger shopping list

Ditah -
I'll definitely shop there too... what about:
- Pet Stims
- Pet foods as well (I almost NEVER see these... I think I found some on 1 vendor once, and can't recall where)
- Grind quality inorganic resources for the scout/ranger that wants to craft their own camps (thinking minerals here)
- Grind quality organic resources for the noob crafter that needs hide, lots of it, but doesn't have money for hte expensive stuff
- Bio clothes - I'm almost exclusively a no armor hunter these days unless I know I'm going after something *really* big. Bio mod clothes and foods would be nice

I would like to see all of the things that the above posters mentioned...with one little addition...put the vendor on the tempest server. Then it would have everything I needed and I would be able to buy from it...lol. Good luck in setting it up. I can't wait to read the vendor 101 post it sounds very interesting!
