Thread: Grouping produces more mobs per lair?

Ok, as a Doc who does his own harvesting, using Novice Scout plus one harv box (dont laugh), will getting in a sologroup and getting missions produce more mobs per lair? Or, will it merely increase the difficulty level of missions I am able to take?

Usually I just take whatever missions I can get solo or grouped with my Dark trooper (soon to be AT-ST hopefully ). I use Veghash and sometimes if I'm moving slowly enough (usually unbuffed hunts) my harvest droid too.

Thanks,

Ato

Groupingwill increase you mission difficulty which, in turn, will increase the number of mobs per lair (to a point).

Right, how about if while in the sologroup, I was to take the missions I can get by myself (same difficulty level when ungrouped or groupedI guess). Will they produce more mobs per lair because of the 'group'?

number of mobs per lair is dependant on mission difficulty.

mission difficulty is dependant on number of people in group (irrespective of where they are in the game world)

the standard mission you can take solo will have i believe 9 mobs. 3 when you arrive, 3 after tapping lair, and 3 at 60%.

the max number of mobs you can get is 15 (5, 5, 5)

other things affected: take sharnaffs, a higher difficulty mission will have more Bulls per spawn (bulls being social) and a higher mission difficulty means more likely for there to be a scout there ( makes all spawnedmobs aggro if it aggros you)

is that it? or did i forget something...

I was solo the other day hunting giant sand beatles on Tat and getting 3 per lair. I joined a friends solo group with about 12 people in it and was then in turn getting 14 per lair. I was getting around 150 per beatle so solo was 450 meat per lair and grouped was 2100 per lair so I now look for solo groups while out harvesting.

**Note I believe this only counts while doing missions not random spawns**

If you sologroup you should get the same number of spawns per lair.

However, just for arguments' sake, realize that most natural lairs will have more spawns, especially on advanced planets. For example-- Dathomir. Brackaset mission usually spawns 4 creatures 3 times. The other day I was taking down a natural lair-- I have 5 waves of 5 come out. So sometimes, just hopping off your bike and hunting by hand will work fastest.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I never knew this about scouts! If true that would make them the number one target when hitting a lair. The things you learn reading the forums instead of watching the reactor control rod temperatures.

Is it still the case that if you are grouped with a pet for higher level missions that the stronger the pet (e.g., an AT-ST rather than a Stormtrooper Rifleman) the higher the mission or is it just based on the number in the group?

Hmm - I'm normally all for reading the swg forums at work, but in your case, maybe you should pay more attention to those control rods :>

I think that mission difficutly is based on the combined combat level of the group members, and this includes pets, but I'm not really sure about the math behind the calculations. For example, if I group with my droid, my mission level goes from 25 down to 18 or so (which would suggest that our combat levels are being averaged), and if I group with my alt, who has no combat skills, my mission level goes down to 15 or so (again, this suggest averaging). But, and here's where it gets confusing, if I group with my droid, my alt, and his droid, I can get up to level 33 missions. And there was that exploit that they just fixed where people could call a droid multiple times and group it to get high-level solo missions....

I wander if the CH's have already figured out the grouping calculations though.

Grouping, whether the so called Solo grouping or grouping with a team or pets will increase difficulty and usually the number of creatures per lair, even ones you could have gotten by yourself. Thus if I group up to level 70 with my pets take out a faction pet and then a bot and still take say a huurton huntress lair, which I could get without doing this, then you find more huurton huntress around the lair, and also with each wave that comes out, at least that has been my experience with grouping. So if you are going to get massacred if there are to many of them out their be real careful how large a group you have.

In my experience if a scout creature aggro on you, it will run to the lair, when it reach it all creatures of that lair will aggro you.
And it have to be the strength of you pet that counts, not just number of group members... because when I group with one of my probe bots (CL 19) I get lower level missions then I do by my self. Beter go get an AT-AS or something like that

save the scouts for LAST. Otherwise, every creature will attack you. Throw a trap or (if you have one) a ranged bleed attack, and then run out of aggro range. the creature will break from the pack and attack you but the other animals stay put. Take them out 1 by 1, leaving the scout for last, so when it runs back to the lair, nobody is there to assist it.
