What is that for anyway? I never paid any attention before, but the other day I realized that after you Master Ranger, they still keep track of Scout XP, Trap XP, and Survival XP. Heres an idea , what if we could trade that XP into something. Not sure what, but maybe someone can come up with an idea, or maybe there is something you can do with it , that I am unaware of.

I am sure you know about the xp cap while levelling, right? I.e. you can usually "store" 2x the xp needed to train the next level of skill (or is it 2x the current level)? Usisng this system, it is probably easier to keep the same system on level 4 skills instead of cutting off the xp gain at the point. It may also be possbile that the devs are going to add more professions in the future, but this is probably a player pipedream.

And you have to love how it seems so EASY to get XP once you master.... It seems to come in spades once you don't need it anymore..... irritating.......

Maybe theres some different novice/ master equation...i dont know.

Calc, maybe you should set up a maximum minimum equation and start cranking out those derivations...

sorry, i just took a calculus midterm and im a little punchy

My name has NOTHING to do with math! I hate math, so I became a scientist. I will give a pat on the back to the first person who can tell me where I got my name from.

You da man.../patonback. I thought that movie was more obscure than that. And I am a geologist, so I make computers do the math for me.

hehehe..I have been a MR since September andI am STILL getting camp xp.

Haha really - about a month ago I disbanded a HTFB and got the "You have reached the limit of your wildnerness survival xp" message (or something like that...). I just wish that I had taken a screenshot -- this has to be one of the most rare messages in the game...

The funny thing, though, is that I still haven't maxxed my trapping xp and I don't know if I ever will.

Explanation of the stored xp and when it truncates.

Basically it's usually double the highest level that you've achieved. Not always though. ( i know CH is weird about that). It's done that way to enable you to not have to train each skill immediately and to have some leeway on timing.

I did a bunch of hologrinding before i decided to do the master ranger/rifle thing once i opened my Jedi Slot.

THere is always a maximum you can have based on the highest skill that you have.. however it only checks that when you do something that would add points into that skill.

For instance. I no longer have Fencing at all. Which i had all the time through all my holo grinds. But I have 900k of 1H experience saved up. If i wanted to ever take fencing up again.. i would have to train as much as possible without ever using a 1H wep.

Even now if I were to kill something with a 1H wep... it would truncatethe 900k down to 2k.

When dropping professions while hologrinding it's usually a good idea to keep one branch in the tree maxed then drop all the way out of that tree at once and don't use that wep or skill again.

Then if you have to take the skill back again. (this happens alot in the basic trees while hologrinding.) You have a big pool of xp to help you raise it quickly. I would usually try to not drop a skill as soon as i mastered it so that I could build up a cushion of xp for a day or two in case i needed it later.

I maxed trapping really quickly, almost before I made Master (yes boys and girls, I use a lot of traps).

Scout xp maxed next, maybe a week or two after Master.

I finally maxed Frontiering about a week/10 days ago.

On a side note, I have maxed Pistol and Combat XP, in fact I maxed combat a couple of times, as I get trained in ranged 1 over and over and ... for friends to get AXP.

Oh, I made Master the day they rolled out all the changes to XP; but still had enough XP to get it under the old system, missed getting trained by mere minutes. Dumb shuttles anyhow.

-Mythinc- That makes sense, and it is nice to have that cleared up.
