Jaato is keeping it up to date as it changes on Test Centre - but you could gain some favours from your local armoursmith by getting a stack of these resources in early :-)

Taken from the Armorsmith Guide:

Using high quality resources is very important to armorsmiths and care should be taken when selecting which resources you use for a given product. There are four traits that matter to armorsmiths: Overall Quality, Unit Toughness, Shock Resistance and Malleability. Each of these affects different things.

Overall Quality: The single most important trait. OQ provides 50% of all armor traits. Choosing resources with high OQ is imperative when crafting armor.

Unit Toughness: Affects the durability of the armor. Generally, customers don't pay attention to this value and, as a result, neither do armorsmiths. The small benefit in terms of armor durability you might see from choosing a material with a high UT is almost always outweighed by lower OQ, SR, or Mall attributes, all of which are more important.

Shock Resistance: Affects both the general and special resistances of the armor segment. Generally you want to keep this as high as possible, although sometimes you might want to stress Mall more if you are very concerned about HAM costs.

Malleability: This resource affects HAM costs. The higher the Mall, the lower the HAM costs. There are also theories that it affects success rates - a high Mall results in fewer fails and more successes in both crafting and experimentation.

thanks

my guess is that any quality of resources will do to start with - if you have decent stuff stockpiled already, then so much the better, but the more fashion conscious Wookiesaround will be wanting a suit of armour on day 1, with few worries about the stats.

If you are bored enough to trawl through the threads on the AS forum, there are a lot of complaints about this armour, and the amount of Fauna resources required, some have estimated the price of a good suit of the hunting armour (composite equivalent) at 500k.

I guess that'll be based on the availablity of Rangers and Scouts to harvest ..... and touches on the other thread here about pricing.

Anyway, Jordan_Kerr from the Eclipse server posted this :

I just did some math... ok to do a run of 333 suits of the hunting armor heres my costs just to get what i need...

Adv. Segment

25000 units of Dath Leathery hide... Humm... Ok thats around 50 credits a unit = 1.25 million just for the 25k needed

16000 units of Dant Avain bone (dont know, whats avian on dantooine)

8000 units of Yavin Evergreen (thats a harveser for a shift so thats 20k in cash and 18k in power)

1000 layers to make the layred armor...

thats 1000 segments so thats several days of factory time and maintance

then the armor itself uses

333 suits will be

33300 units of Dath Evergreen wood (see yavin evergreen for costs)

33300 units of Lokian leather hides at 50 credits a unit again 1.25 million

26640 units of Tat. Wooly hides at 100 credits a unit (because its wooly hide) thats 2.664 million

Oh and I forgot that the armor paddings are being used again...

For me to even be able to recover losses off of the hide requirements alone on this armor I will have to charge around 300 to 400k a suit... and thats starting off... let alone waiting for good spawns of resouces...

So by the time its all finished a suit will have to be sold at around 500k just to make any money back with these resouce requirements..

This is a great thread. Now we know what to hunt for. Unfortunately, my 300k Corellian Wooly is once again useless. Maybe one day.

I was just over on the test center boards and armorsmiths are still complaining that they have to have fauna resources in their armor. Some people just don't get that we want to be useful as a profession.

Dath. Leathery drops of Rancors, as soon as this goes at 50cpu the market will be flooded with it resulting in a lower cpu. Avian bones will be more annoying however.

anyone but me notice there are exactly ZERO avian creatures on Dantooine????

anyone notice this stuff is very fauna intensive yet the creatures it can spawn off of are either non-exsistant or only drops a small amount of the needed resource per kill???? How is this stuff ever going to be under 1m credits????? It will take forever to get the resources for one suit

Dantootine avian bone = voritor lizard

Bolmas are probly the easiest way to get Dath leather, dont need to go after rancors.

the wood resources are going to be expensive since they will take brand new harvesters. Right now I am getting enough of the named scout harvestable resources to do about 3 suits or so, and have an armorsmith make them for me, then i get to choose the one I like and he can sell the rest. Still need to work out a deal with an armorsmith. I do not want to pay top dollar to get one at the very begining

The Hunting armour is supposed to be the composite equivalent, and the Black Mountain is supposed to be Ubese equivalent.

However, because of the resources used, you are unlikley to get as high stats as comp or ubese armour, mainly because of use of wood and not metal.

My brother worked all this out - so if the math is wrong ...... lol

Also - the Armour Padding needs hide too - a fair amount from what I recall and requires a Tailor with Fieldwear 3 to make it (Kashykkian armour and components are not on SWGcraft yet ...)
