Thread: Preliminary Droid Tests

TC is flakey, so I didn't get much testing done but here is what I saw:

Trapping: Stick a stack of traps in it, program the command and say the command to throw a trap. It appears we got our trap launcher. I did not test range (I just thought if it, darn it). You cannot insert more than one stack of traps at a time (so adhesive mesh is still in stacks of 2). I did not see if you can remove a stack and then place a new stack in it. The droid takes a little bit 5-10 second to throw the trap, but this DOES NOT count as your own action, so you keep fighting.

Harvesting: You program the command to harvest and pick a resource (random, meat, hide, or bone). The droid does run over to the kill and harvests for you, but you can not harvest after it has. I still need to do a lot of testing on this, butI thought it was important to get this out to you guys.

Iwill do a more thorough test tomorrow night if TC is a bit more stable. My first impression is that I really like the droids!

Thanks!

I am very curious to hear if the droids harvesting goes off of your skill (I hope) or is it set to some fixed number no matter who uses it?

Anyway you can root for more stacks in a Trap droid at a time? Make it a correspondent issue ^^ You know, even something stupid like "A droid can hold 3-5 stacks of the same trap, but only one trap type at a time"

Just because that would be convenient.

Otherwise everything sounds great as far as I'm concerned

The droid has a harvesting rating. Off the top of my head, with one module, mine had a rating of 18. My early assumption is that stacking more modules may mean a better rating.

Can a harvesting droid be used without any scout skills at all?

Unless it maxes out at a very low harvesting yield, rangers will face heavy competition from jedi with harvesting droids, as jedi can kill animals really, really fast.

Do you need the trapping skill to use a droid for tossing traps? If not there may be a market for ranger traps.

I'm assuming that the rating is merely a bonus to a player's existing harvesting skill, right? The amount harvested is not directly rated to this number alone, right?

When sending the droid to harvest does it create a buffered list of targets to go harvest from? Say I stand back 60 meters and pick off 6 kreetles and send the droid to harvest them. Do I have to wait for it to harvest each one before I can send it to the next one or does it automatically go to each one when the command is given?

Also, if I am standing back /concealshotting rancors and I send in my droid to harvest will they aggro on the droid or is it immune to attacks?

Or...The Droid Harvested More.

Significantly more..BUT IT IS STILL IN TESTING AND I AM SURE THEY WILL TWEAK IT. That being said, I harvested about 3 times before TC booted me, so let me test some more.

I'd love to hear I'm wrong. Feel to free to post those numbers and shut me up. Please. Until then though, I'm with JBMat.
