Hi all,
I am trying to move up the force sensitive:Sense tree with my current skill set (Ranger/Creature Handler). The one xp type im having difficulty in maxing is the camping xp. In order to remedy this, i was going to afk camp, and was after the best way to do this (before anyone flames, it works out something like 110 trips to the village

).I did have a macro that placed a camp, and then i followed my pets in and out of the camp until it disbands, then placed another. The amount of xp i get seems very random, from a few hundred upto the max for the camp. Nearly always the camp would disband after 10minutes (or sometimes, i would abandon my camp and have to wait a few extra minutes for the old camp to disappear).
Does anyone know how the amount of xp is calculated? and why i am getting random amounts? (tried it with 3 pets and a droid and the camp vanishes after 10 minutes and i get 320ish xp, store the droid and i can get upto cap).

AFK camping. To Jedi. And you openly present yourself here? I personally have no issue against either, but good luck man. You're gonna need it.

No advice here.. just good luck with that one. LOL.. Its boring enough getting through Frontiering for Ranger, let alone for FS. My advice would be to throw traps. You can tank one creature for hours on end and get lots of great xp.

Proll'y better to stick to converting your CH and Scout xp.

Well, if you have to grind you are doing something wrong. No game is designed for the player to grind thair way throe it, simply because grinding in not fun. So if you grind you are doing something wrong. Perhaps you should think of some alternative way of gathering senses XP that does not require to do something you do not find fun, and then just play the game.
The is the closest thing I will come to helping you, and I wont wish you good luck, grinding has nothing to do with luck, only patience.

pfff... I love grinding, reminds me of old Dragon Warrior RPGs.
p.s.: Every smart man knows that a trip between the outpost to the Temple of Exar Kun while maskscented will bring in close to 3000 scouting xp (that's one way). Get buffed, get a good ride, and settle in for 3 hours of driving. You get to see the land, explore untouched regions of Yavin4, and work through the grind MUCH faster than with camping or trapping.
Have fun, and ignore those who would impose their playing method on you, its a GAME, play it the way you like to.

Why not harvest and trap your way to Jedi?
I am doing the Luck tree. Scout xp from harvesting and running around maskscented is so easy to get it is silly. Trap xp sucks as it is 25-1, altho I can max traps in one trip to a certain POI.
Geeze, I get xp going to and from the village. How easy is that?
Camping? Takes way way way too long. And your macro is silly. Sit and craft more camps is a lot easier, you continue to get xp.
Camp your way to Jedi... big hint, get Dancer, it's easier, trust me on this. A buddy is doing it and the macro is easier.

I max my scout xp in the day to day running around so thats generally not a problem, the trap xp conversion rate is pretty silly, but i do use them occasionaly.
In the time it takes me to cap scout xp, i generally have only a few thousand camp xp (i use them for calling pets before fights, and a bit of recuperation after fights, but i'm a predominantly solo character, and my pets dont require camps to heal up. It's nice to drop a camp while RP'ing but amazing how often you are within city limits/zone limits.) So gaining camp xp is often a pretty dull process, and i would much rather be out tracking for my rare pets. It would be nice to sit outside in the wilderness every couple of days and max the camp xp, just so i have that little bit extra to convert.
I tried the trick of entering/exit camp with pets, and the camp seems to auto disband after 10ish minutes (sometimes it just becomes abandoned), and was wondering if there was some hard and fast rule.

AFAIK your camp should auto-disband after 50 minutes. If it only lasts 10 maybe you're abandoning it? As JB said you'd be better off sitting in camp and crafting camps in practice mode if you really want to 'grind' them.

Sounds very boring, even exposing your toon to this AFK sounds boring.... poor toon (If I would be it I would db myself !) 
I can already see a patch in the future where Jedi will become one of the base Professions

Racing to my jedi profession with my build! Seriously, i wanted to take the persuasion and luck trees of FS, maybe i mis-titled. Seriously, camping your way to Jedi, as highlighted above, is a silly idea. I was just after help in capping out my camp xp.
I did do ranger the non-grind way, and admit it was my second favourite profession (im afraid CH is my fav.).
But i see it as a sore point here, so i will leave it alone.
