I saw an interesting effect last night. I dropped a camp within 20m or so to a group of "yellow dots". They moved away from the camp and I saw a 64m hole on the radar in all directions. This is the first time I have EVER seen this effect... I hope that was not an odd random coincidence. The yellow dots were all around me in a somewhat sparce density. Dropping the camp caused them all too IMMEDIATELY move away from camp and in 15 seconds not a single one was closer then 60m. Can anyone verify this? I usedthe HQ camp, notthe field base.

I noticed last week it was sorta helping. One of my buddies was running from something red. I had my camp up and he ran into it. Immediately, the red mob stopped following and left. /shrug

A few days ago, I was in a HQ camp and a tusk cat lair spawned close to me. I died pretty quicky due to low action. No help there. So if it's been fix, it must be new. Perhaps it went out with the no-build-zone fix.

I was attacked by wolf kima that wondered close to my camp then attacked me in it, plus I had maskscent up, killed the kima and still had maskscent up!
This was using a HQ camp kit about an hour from now.

Hmmm.. maybe related to the quality of the materials? Do you recall what the DR your resources were?

This may have been coincidence. I know for a FACT that 3 days ago a newbie took a mission that got away from him and ran to my camp to get me to help. Creatures did not leave so I killed them. I also know that until tonight, those yellows (Vynox I believe they were) would zoom in and out of camp like it wasn't there, in fact they used to come in MORE often to investigate me. Now they all flee as if I fired /warningShot at them.

Lets hope not. That would insinuate that the experimentation was key, and since it appears that that is currently affected by the Engineering and Domestic Arts lines of Artisan, that would make for a pretty nasty template. You'd have camp-crafter rangers who make camps for other rangers who still have to have the same level of frontiering to use the camps.
If it is going to be a chance thing, it should be based on the camping skill of the ranger and modified by the camp level. And all camps should be able to be sold. In other words, anybody with scouting can set up a High-tech Field Base that they purchased. However, it wont be well set up, so their poor camping skill will mean that it doesnt defend them well and the camp gets a reduction on its standard healing modifier.

I think so too. I have yet to have a mob walk into my camp and attack me though. I've even camped next to tusk cats.
I wonder if what we are all talking about here has anything to do with the Ferocity of the mobs. Some mobs are red, but their ferocity is small, which means they are less likely to attack you. That may explain why it appears we can put a camp next to a screen full of hermit spiders and get no aggro.
