Thread: Q: Is there really something 'rare' to be found in /forage after frontiering I
And if so:
What is it...
What does it do....?
Thank you,
(I looked but could not find a reference to what the 'rare' part mentioed in the skill is.
Thanks for the replies Gents.
I hope it gets fixed as I "semi" enjoy foraging about for things while in Camp... ahhh waiting for time to pass.
I would certainly love to see Foraged foods stack, or the ability to eat 2 of them at any given time rather than only 1.
Can anyone from Beta comment on what the 'rare' items were before they were taken out?

Can I ask a really stupid question? I've never used forage. Does it provide anything useful? Or is it like the stuff you find when you search lairs, which you cant give away, let alone sell or use?
LOL guess you've never gotten any eggs from a lair, anything else you get is just plain sh!t.
If you are too lazy to even try foraging at least till you get 1itemthen I'm too lazy to tell you what it does for you and I use it so much I made a macro for it so that I forage until there's nothing left to forage.

Forage gives you food buffs that are pretty short term, and less effective than stuff Chefs sell (like they should be). It can also give you fishing bait, if you are into that.
About stuff from search lair, eggs are about the only thing that has a *monetary* value, so it may be worth it to stockpile those if you come across them. However, I also enjoy releasing a swarm of bees in the bank and shouting "AUGH! BEES!" /wildpanic, or a group of butterflies when that cute dancer in the cantina does an especially nice flourish (the ladies love it). But, on the other hand, I'm a bit odd...
No is the answer...currently
I can forage 3 items at a time, all the same stuff you've been seeing all along.
Also it has been stated you can be fishing and "catch" a rare item or garbage
As usual everything is bugged and broken.
Patience is required.
SIGH
did a dev post on this? if so, i guess anyone can not get rare items right now, meaning maybe when it works every will be getting rare items.

There was a dev post on this, I can't find it now tho (can't remember the right search words). There is a bug when the foraging rolls to switch from normal items to rare items on the main roll. It tries to do a roll from the rare list, but the list is empty. The default error text is the one for inventory, where it should actually be "no items available in this area" or something like that. I beleave they actually have this part fixed now. There was no mention about putting any rare item back in, in fact I got the impression it will not be. If it is still occuring even now you might want to call attention to it (use: /bug).
I did a "forrage run" a few days ago and the error did not occure. I got 2 differing falure messages, however, where I only got one before.

Well, you seem to be the only person that finds it particularly useful. Looks like I haven't been missing much of anything (which is what I've read on the boards and hence encouraged me to ignore it). I must admit, I did try it once and found a root that wasn't all that useful, though.
I foraged up something that added a 300 increase to my mind pool. I ate it and my mind pool increased in size quite a bit, but it was empty and had to regernate for the bonus. Before the regeration was complete the effect wore off. lol
The only thing that happens by foraging with my character is that it puts things in my inventory that I need to delete.
As for eggs from lairs, I have gotten 21 of them in 3 different stacks in a weeks time, is that considered worth searching a lair, cause I stopped searching lairs.
