Today i logged on and checked out my new conceal kits.. Well i cant build them and frankly i think their a pain in the ass because it has to be from the same planet AND a certain kind of resource.

I think only the flora should be specalized to a certain type while the hide/bone/meat should allowed to be any type of hide/bone/meat from the planet you are making the conceal kits from..

The way it is now i dont see how its worth it

thoughts..comments?

i dont like your suggestion at all. Things in this game are too easy already, and yes i think it should involve some effort. Why does everyone want everything handed to them on a plate?

Im sorry i just dont see the problem.

Infact i appluaded the implementation. As a ranger it will take you probably about 20 mins to gather the resources to make several kits. With the exception of the flora which can be bought of the bazaar pretty easily. If you are creating a camo kit, you are obviously going to be heading to that specific planet so why not plan it out so that you get there 10mins or so beofer you hunting party so you can set up all the camo kits etc..

It reallys isnt an issue, i just think some of us are starting to get lazy and expect everything to be handed to us on a plate.

Add to that a suggestion you all might think about.

It something i am doing for everything. Factories.

You can import the schematics for everything you create into a factory and it will make it for you.

This does take alot of stuff to get together, but to me its worth while, i think it owuld take a day or 2 to get a months worth of supplies. And to be honest, im a ranger, but yet i have a home, and it is nothing more than a "Storage Shed" that i go to when i need some traps, tents, and now camo kits etc..

I love it, and my place will look cool with crates and crates of stiuff in there. (i allow a couple of friend to use it as well, so we have live whole crates of pwoer uops, stims, weapins etc..)

tookraklarrin,
there's the floral resources we need on the baazar for dathomir and tavin and dantooine and endor? wow, i haven't seen them. must be looking in the wrong galaxy.

10 minutes isn't enough time to collect the resources you need, due to the fact that you need to find what gives you those resources and then kill them. this takes a while if you're on an advanced planet, if you survive.

AND, unless you have artisan skills, you're going to have to bring someone with you to get the floral resources you need. from teh beginning i've wanted to be a master CH/Ranger and i am, but i also need some sort of weapon skills. 3 boxes into rifleman maxes me out on skill points, and if i want artisan skills, the maximum weapons skill i can have is expert in 1 weapon. that's pretty weak.

so before you don't see the problem, take another look at it. it's a pain to find an artisan willing to spend 8k to go to endor with you in order to sell you a couple resources. maybe in time a couple of people will start selling the appropriate flora on teh bazzar on those planets, but how long do you think it'll last on there?

Actually, it makes sense. My camouflage ghillie suit isn't nessisarily going to be comprised of the same flora or animal hides... or animal meat and bones for that matter, as the next guys. There should be some measure of "customization" to the camo...

Instead of Tatooine Wild Oats, why cant it just be Tatooine Cereal? Instead of Tatooine Wooly Hide, why cant it just be Tatooine Animal Hide?

If even two of the four materialswere madealittle more general, I think most people would be happy.

Just my opinion.

My right to reply.

By now, any half decent ranger, especailly with the /areatrack skill, should have a fairly good idea of what they need to hunt to get what the need and do it fairly quickly. If you dont, then why ar eyou infact a ranger. If you dont have that good a memeory, start to make a database that you can quickly refer to.

I am currently doing the same, and it is already helping me heaps, Lantern Birds - On Endor - give me good amounts of Herb Meat, which doctors are always screaming for etc..

Do it like i am setting it out - Planet, Animal, Resouce, How Wants it (Doctor, Architect etc..)

As for the flora devices on other planets, if they are not on the bazaar, which i havent done endor or yavin 4 or dathomir yet so dont know, you shoudl be able to get someone to go and harvest the stuff you. Make an offer that is suitable to both parties (this is what the devs are trying to implement, more player interaction).

We are rangers and people need what we can provide, be they hides, meat or bones. You might be able to trade some wooly hides with an architect, and that architect might be able to trade soemthign with an artisan, that is prepared to trade something for the flora resources you need.

Dont give me this, ohh its too hard, **gets on high horse** that is the problem with todays society, everyone wants everything but noone is prepared to work for it *gets off high horse**

I really jsut dont see this as a problem.

And as for you ranger / CH, to be honest, if you are going to be a ranger, i dont see how you can not have some type of melee skill, myself i am a Ranger/Rifleman with points left over spent on CH.

About the only thing i will concede is the 10mins factor, its true this can vary depending on what planet you are on, but again you make allowances for it. Most hunts people go on are preorganised. Of this is the case, get there 30mins or so early if it is a hard planet to you have the time to make the kits, Its as simple as that.

Add ot that you could emply a surveyor to go to the planet and you offer to protect him and pay for his cloning and get him to mark our spots then you place your own harvesters and bam, in a week you should get enough stuff to last you ages.

Again, its about player interaction, which they devs are implementing, and to me, i think it is great, we have to rely on others for flora etc..

Now i do understand that us as rangers should be able to tell the difference between plants, (maybe this will be an elite elite ranger skill where we can forage for the items we need) but as it stands, i liek the way it is implemented and i hope they dont change it becuase people wnat everything to be easy!

If its easy, there will be less appreactiation for the kit, if its hard, there will be more appreciation for the kit.

actually i sat around on tattionne firts i went city to city hoping to buy rresources...i got the reptiallian meat thats it...Then i spent my time as an artisan finding oats and wasting another 5k getting power and a harvester. And i do know a few good bantha spots for wooly hide but the nearest spot i know is 3k meters from a town.

I agree their needs to be some sort of specilization...but making all of them like that is a bit..harsh

I like the specialization but what I don't like is having items a Ranger can't obtain on his own... Rangers are loners by characters and I think it's stupid that they have to go back to town, away from their wilderness, to buy natural materials or pollute the ground some more with harvestors. Gathering the meat, hides and bones are no problem for me as I have my own way of massing huge amounts of them but I suppose I'll be setting up Flora harvestors on Dathomir and Endor [as those are the two planets I go to most] and pollute the ground even more.... I'm sure I can just randomly place it as I don't need a huge amount of the materials.

I have to say that the Flora part of the Camo kit if not a great idea. I thought a ranger was someone who could live off the land. Not someone who needs to have a Crafter come along with him and point out " there is the Berrys u need" personly i find that insulting.

What the Devs should have done is added new items to the Forging list. These items would be the items need inplace of the Flora items.

i got no prob withneeding a certen kind of Hide, bone Etc. But the flora requierment is just not good. Not to mention not " in character". What Camo kit have u ever heard that need "Domesticated Wheat"???

let us have some good use for are forgingskill other then the abillity to dig up Worms! or some token food for are pets. Let us have to spend a few mins forging for the "Flora" items we need for these camo kits. PLZ dont have a ranger have to ask a Farmer or become a farmer inorder to make these kits.

I like the specialization of resources, but I think it's extremely silly that men of the wild cannot harvest or forage for flora. I should not have to take novice artisan for such an elementary part of living in the wilderness.

The flora resources are too hard to get - period. I've browsed the bazaar for the past hour and have found the needed components to make about 3 camo kits, all for the newbie/starter planets, all on different planets than what I'm on. In my whole PA I thinkone person has a harvester ona resource I need.. and thats just a resource needed for a camo kit which is only good for one planet.

If it doesn't have outstanding qualities,or the qualities other crafting professions are looking for, artisans aren't going to plunk down harvesters on them - and you're not going to see any on the bazaars. Pay an artisan to find a spot for you? The artisans I know have better things to do with their time than run around hunting on dangerous planets for odd-ball materials so a ranger can plunk down a personal harvester and grab a couple thousand units of it, even if he's getting paid for it.And from all of the bitching and complaining I hear about resource hunting on teamspeak (which our PA uses)- I know for a fact its not an enjoyable experience, let alone something somone would like to do for someone else. Not only that, but I know a few artisans which are going to be upset that I'll have to take my lots back from them since I'll have to start playing the harvester game as well. Throw in rolling resource shifts, and you've got a really bad situation for people looking for small amounts of very specific materials.

I made a suggestion on the general discussion forums for the creation of a 'surveying droid' - which would allow players to 'survey' (not sample) at a rate equal to or slightly lower than the lowest sampling level in artisan. I myself would gladly hunt for hours on end for these resources, and use up my lots in order to get tiny amounts of them.. whereas I'm going to have a hard time convincing that artisan to come do my dirty work instead of doing what he likes/wants to do.

If there were still mining/farming professions - I could see these resources being easier to come by. But as of right now, they're way too rare - and ultra hard to get your hands on (depending on your servers current resource shift, of course).
