Thread: Rangers Give Swimming Lessons [ OT ]

Was out on the oasis by the small Imperial base, Tatooine, getting the dust out of my lungs and fishing for profit today.
The HiQ camps fill about 1/4 of the water surface, but, if you position it right, you can get a little 'moat' round about 80% of the edge of the camp JUST inside the outer limit.
I'd fished the place out, wasn't getting any more bait on forages, so was just clearing up and heading off when an off duty stormy came gallumping down demanding to see my papers.
"You don't need to see my papers" I said, packing away my harvest droid and climbing onto my rusty speeder.
"Oh, I think I do citizen" he said, trying to look intimidating and all authoritarian
"Can you swim, trooper?" I asked
"?"
Oh if only there was a 'splish' animation as the camp suddenly vanished from under his feet and he dropped neck deep in water.

Oh, and the fish caught, they were THIS big and, boy, the one that got away??? well...

I once pulleda HTFB out so we could bring out into the middle of a lake to loot a kimo. Someone said: "Dang! Who pulled out the city?"

"Can you swim?" - LOL That's a good one.
Although we can make one helluva campfire, we can't build aroof to keep out the rain.
Architectsshould notethat rangers can build two crafting staions out of a scant 30 units of metal. (OK, they're only public stations, but still...)

I once wound up pitching a camp up inshin deep water. Got a nice screenshot of the stuff flooded. Somehow the campfire was still lit. That just goes to show that us ranger's can make one helluva campfire.

i rember pulling out a htfb on a few ocassions when somehting funny happened. once i pulled it out and the camp managed to reaise the ground up around 3 feet. all i saw were people's heads popping out of the ground. another time i pulled out a htfb and it didnt show up. later i saw that it had warped about 20m into the air...i never knew those floating chairs had so much power

apparently theres a problem with crafting, if you use too high of a quality material, the hover-balace goes out of whack in the chairs and lifts the camp.
Also, there are issues when you try to align the flux-capacitor schematic, causing the camp to warp into the future and disband.

Im in a strange coffee induced mood... also Im at school and its a break between classes... so im a littly punchy.
Oh, and theres an internet pub near campus, so I post... drink my coffee, and nurse my black & tan, so im prepped and ready for class

oh us Rangers we're a humourous bunch.
on a side note I have perfected a method of making the camp float in the water...i get it about 90% of the time...okay so I didn't "perfect" it. shut up, i did my best. All you have to do is find relatively sharp slope into the water..walk into the water and SLOWLY walk out, trying to set up the camp. If you're really desperate...set up a macro that repeats the same toolbarslot over and over...and then put a camp in that slot and SLOWLY walk out of the water...you'll get a camp set up in the water.
it makes for UBER fishing. you can actually WALK over to the fish and pick it up. I caught in a 5 minute fishing session (server went down in the middle and the good stuff was gone when i came back) about 20 fish.
they were HUGE... taller than a Rancor. they tried to eat my cu'pa. but i caught them fishies.
*speaking of which* wouldn't it be cool if SWG made aggro fish?? a shark-type animal or a pirrana (sp?) that attacked you while you swimed and stuff...that'd be cool. If you catch one, it's "carniverous fish" meat and is SUPER-valuable.

Hey no worries about spelling and grammer, the only lessons here are swimeding lessons.
Mine english teacher learned me good.
