OK, this info is from Test Centre (TC-Bria) taken from a Ranger/CH (CL67), deleting one skill box and re-examining target creatures as skill level pared away. Continued it down to novice scout then switched to a fresh toon with no scout skills for last box.

Cool - so it does look like our creature knowledge mods are working (well, at least a little bit). If I'm reading the above correctly, CH has no bearing on the results?
Thanks for compiling this!

It's provided for information only, as a 'state of teh prof' snapshot of a skill line, and without comment, conclusion etc.

Learn to SNIP jafo!
Thanks Owen. Remember to add the Master Ranger info tho.
iirc, inthe OLD FAQ we had a list of what the pre-CU /exa showed... would be a useful comparison, eh.
awrabest,

Seeing resists doesnt have anything to do with creature knowledge so i wouldnt include it in the creature knowledge post. Thats just a bug and ive reported that in the crit issues thread we had last week.
As for the DB? Was DB only shown with a certain level of creature knowledge or is it like resists and independant of mods?

Resists used to be based on Creature Knowledge. It was at the Scout level, but without that line, people could not see them.
I think it was around the third box, but I've had my skills so long that I do not remember where it was given.

From the sadly neglected and still to be updated FAQ
What items on the /examine window appear with each skill level?
Novice Scout: Aggressive, Stalker
Hunting I: Tameable
Hunting II: Hide Type, Meat Type
Hunting III: Deathblows
Hunting IV: Ferocity
Master Scout: Difficulty Level
Novice Ranger: nothing
Tracking I: nothing
Tracking II: Special Attack 1
Tracking III: Special Attack 2
Tracking IV: Base To-Hit
Master Ranger: Damage
(Vague recollection that I leeched this info from a post by some Owen bloke... but it may very well have been from someone else

Maybe it was changed later, but at some point resists were Scout/Ranger only. Being a Scout since day 1, and rarely playing alts, I can't really say if or when that might have happened.

I also thought resists were at one time scout/ranger only but give to everyone later, but I never once considered /examine-ing a single creature or NPC with my DE alt... only with my combat characters who cared (but also had scout/ranger skills).

Resists and Deathblow was all about Creature Knowledge. Pretty much the only additional info gained from Novice Scout to Master Ranger. Impressive, eh?
