Hi everyone,

Thank you for your continued support and feedback. I have updated the webpage for the Treasurer's Tool detailing the changes and new screenshots. Please bookmark the page so that you can quickly find information about the latest version.

- Corrected chart on Guild tab.
- Corrected the formula on the structures tab showing number of structures in use (thanks T'lara for pointing this out!)
- Changed the way the structure count works to fix open office compatibility issue when dealing with wildcard *

v1.0.7a - 5-Mar-2005
- Corrected some formula ranges on the citizens tab
- Re-entered 1 in the city costs tab so the city hall is picked up as a structure in the count

- Added mission terminal drop down list
- Added trainer drop down list (note that Starship trainers are still not available)

hehe I've done one of these as well. http://web1.greatbasin.net/~ericandshannon/swg.htm

Do you actually maintain that every week? Seems like alot of details. I don't even maintain mine every week.

I just use mine to get an 'impression' of what the budget is doing... "Well looks like we're running in the red by about 200k/week" etc.

There is so much that can influence revenue that you can't get a real idea (merchant discount, fluctuating tickets and sales, garage usage). You can nail the costs pretty well though.

Rather than every week, we tend to update it on a fortnightly basis to coincide with reporting for our council meetings. Admittedly without everyone who uses the garage telling you how much they spent, merchants telling you how much they sold that week, etc. it is hard to pin down an exact amount - but we are able to balance the books and establish within reason just how much we are breaking even by or in deficit. It is useful for us because of the sponsorship and donations to keep records. Game within a game I suppose

I like seeing trends and such like as you can see by my Talus City Review post.

Thank you Surius for bringing that to my attention. That could be why some people aren't seeing the benefits of it, lol. I've amended my initial post to explain what IS included with a screenshot to help clarify it. Please download the new version as well, thanks!

Yeah, an unlocked version would be nice also. I have found a few errors and it was a pain in the rear trying to change them. If you could offer an unlocked version for those who want to make small changes/corrections, that would be great. it is a great spreadsheet though.

This is a well done spreadsheet but without all of the required information being available to us what can you really get from it?

Unless I'm missing something we have no way of telling how much money comes in and no idea of from which catagory it comes from. It seems to me that without being able to look at income the ability to examine expenses doesn't do anything for you.

There are some numbers than can be estimated. For example, a random sampling of shuttle traffic over an hour can be used to estimate average shuttle visits per week. Vendors can report sales to help you calculate an average sale count for the week. The shuttle rule works for Garages as well. It's not going to be right on the nose by any means, but it is an excellent forecasting tool.
