Oops my bad on the city name, I will unlock that tomorrow off to bed now!

Yeah, an unlocked version would be nice also. I have found a few errors and it was a pain in the rear trying to change them. If you could offer an unlocked version for those who want to make small changes/corrections, that would be great. it is a great spreadsheet though.

For the moment if you spot any errors can you PM me or mail the address in the spreadsheet so I can correct them for everybody so the community benefits rather than the individual? It's amazing what gets thrown up once more eyes look at it Look forward to hearing from you soon.

This is a well done spreadsheet but without all of the required information being available to us what can you really get from it?

Unless I'm missing something we have no way of telling how much money comes in and no idea of from which catagory it comes from. It seems to me that without being able to look at income the ability to examine expenses doesn't do anything for you.

Hmm, have you got the full workbook downloaded with all nine sheets visible? Although some of the figures have to be estimated (as pointed out you can conduct a sample to estimate some figures, and feedback from vendors and citizens regarding donations also helps), you do get a pretty good idea of the income flow and where it is coming from. If after putting in your figures your projected treasury does not match that after the figures then you can ascertain roughly how mcuh must be coming from other sources.

Keep me posted on how you get on with it. In our case, the major benefit has been being able to breakeven on a weekly basis because we know we are covering our base costs through figures we CAN quantify and anything else is a bonus.

I did look at all the sheet, thanks

We have a pretty busy city being located at the Fort Tusken POI. We get a lot of shuttle traffic. I'm guessing that most of our income comes from sales tax however. I would think that a sampling of an hour or two at the shuttle and garage would have so much room for error that you could really skew the estimate. I guess I could do that and count up all of the buildings in the city and get a number.

I've been playing with the shuttle tax and garage tax while leaving income at 0 and sales at 1% to try and break even. I'm just trending the treasury funds after the update. We're doing pretty close now running a deficit of about 50k a week.

I really wish they would add a income breakdown per city update.

I've updated the spreadsheet to version 1.0.1

07-May

  • Amended some formulas so is easier for others to see where they come from

  • Amended the trainer total on city costs to count actual trainers present regardless of sponsorship status

  • Removed the extra column on the gardens sheet so that no of gardens automatically calculated based upon input

  • Increased decorations space for 10 fountains and 10 statues

  • Unlocked City Name field

06-May

  • Added autocalculation of city hall costs based on rank as determined by no of citizens

The instrucions will come when I have the time next week hopefully. Any other things that are needed?

I may be wrong, but according to my calculations from our city, the garages cost the city 30K not 20K and the shuttle ports are 25K from what I have been reading. if I am wrong, please diregard, but with the garage set to 20k, I am missing exactly 10K when using your spreadsheet.

The calculation figures are correct so somewhere there is a missing 10k. If you want to send me screenshots of your city terminal figures and your copy of the spreadsheet then I will have a look for you and see if I can spot where it is going wrong Thanks!

It looks like when you increased the space for the fountains and statues, you forgot to update the formula that sums up the total number of fountains and statues (F8 and F20) on the Decorations sheet. These numbers are used in calculating the total maintenece for decorations in cell F5 in the Decorations sheet and for the decoration breakdown cost in the City Costs sheet.

I entered all the figures in and it, other than the decorations formula, adds up to our total city maintenence. Nice work. I'll be using this to try to work out a way to break even with our city. Thanks!
