Thread: Thunderheart, how is this going to help Politician?
To Thunderheart or Any Developer -

I know in January, we're having a special city mission thats been especially designed to whre 2 NPCs will be buying off player votes with some neat loot
With all of the complaints and grousing in the Politician forums I can't see how these city missions are going to help Politicians. As it is there are a number of people frustrated by the class, and there arevery few here in the forum posting about the positives of being a Politician to try to keep morale and interest up. Now with the developers planing to introduce NPC bribes to take votes away from us (which is our only source of XP), how are we supposed to believe that The Powers That Be actually have an interest in seeing this class succeed?
Please review some of the posts in this forum. There are a number of disgruntled Politicians already who are wondering if the inherent abilities of the class (such as placing city structures) even warrant the expenditure of the skill points after those items are placed or a specialization is set. Still others are putting forward the arguement that they can have virtually all of the leadership benefits of being a mayor without investing in the profession by just designating a house as a cantina, and another as a hospitol, etc. I am concerned that the development of content geared toward bribing players to give the source of Politician XP away in exchange for trinkets will drive people away from this profession in greater numbers.

actually... this won't solve the "ghost issue" you have to be "present to win" to be "bought off"
This will only help establish city... why?high level city probably have almost master politician.. they can afford to lose vote to get "neat loot" while smaller cities would suffer...
so this is just a reward to powerful cities.
Well i think i would take a wait and see approach neat loot to us and them is very diff. It is very stupid though, whats in it for the politician by the way. Now people can grief there exp how can we grief another professions exp.
I could see it, politicians will now have terminals that allow them to run a mission to take your women and children, if successfully it transfers all there exp and money to the politician, consider it a divorce ![]()

Nice! ROFL!
I should use Jake Blues as my role model should that ever get implemented, a'la the restaruant scene from The Blues Brothers.
"How much for your wife? And the children? I want to buy them! Yes, yes! I want to buy them all! Sell them to me... sell me your children!"

hehe.. I just create another character on another server to test out TKA.... and I got some weird name melon instead of "melon"
so I guess melon are rare now
(that would be consider neat loot) to those who are collectors.
So, I can change my campaign slogan to "Vote for Me, I'll Give You Melons!" and not loose any XP?

not much context to go on. sounds exceedingly frustrating for politicians, though.
