Thread: So... you cant /setpermission ban... how do we prevent enemy from using shuttles?
It was my impression that you could add guilds into ban lists from using shuttles and clone terminals. Now, with the city on live i see that you can only /cityban targets in visual range targeted, not entire guilds, and I read now that on the test center slash commands are being removed alltogether.
If there is not a method of restricting faction access to shuttles and clone terminals we will have constant raids inside our own cities, and greifing galore. Not something I am looking forward to in the least, especially considering the devs are trying to move PVP out of cities.
Further, the ban list is STILL capped at 50 entries, and that is insufficient! All we need is a faction:imperial, or faction:rebel and it will solve ALL faction related entry rights into the city, both /setpermission ban, and for an altered /cityban faction:imperial.
Fix this problem before it becomes one on live....
when you see them in town, /cityban them
prevents them from using any civic structures..
This is a problem. But with the removal of / commands, how am I supposed to give admin rights for city hall to my assistants? How am I supposed to use /structurestatus to see how many items are inside? Are these being disabled too? Will they then at least be added to the terminal so City Hall can function like other buildings at least?
If it's factional confrontation that concerns you, this is a simple matter. Throw down some minefields and turrets along with a Covert Factional Scanner. They are toast before they finish loading, 24/7. Or can this not be done for some reason?
burst run past minefield, clone... and run out..
also, when you clone you appear inside the facility, a minefield can only be placed near the entrance not inside it.
As for faction scanners we are working on placing the clone facility right in front of our large faction base. A scanner by it's self has the same massive circular footprint as a turret.
OK, what happens if someone forgot to clone in Coronet and dies in your town on Corelia? The closest cloning center is "your town" not Coronet. You are going to be GRIEFING alot of people setting it up that way with the covert scanner....
If they didn't want PvP in the cities they wouldn't have put ST NPC's in towns either would they? Or let people travel as overt?
If you /ban people they won't be able to use "civic" buildings... Isn't the shuttle a civic building? I understand you don't want your enemies to be able to use your city to get where they want to go. You just need to follow the rules that have been set up... they are certainly adequate... just makes you have to actually do something in gameother than sit and click keys.

Ya, loading death is not a good thing, but the faction scanners and minefields a short distance out completely surrounding the shuttleport and cloning center would be pretty funny.
And while your at it, a covert faction scanner outside the cloning facility with another minefield.
Only way out is to get a member of the opposite faction that can drag corpse, drag you out. I like this.
It doesnt, they clone and can enter fine... cityban is broken. So are entry permissions for the structure it's self...
I am very dissapointed, they wanted fighting outside of cities, well guess what... when we get clone terminals thats the ONLY place PVP will occur. VERY dissapointed.
Clone terminals.. and what i meant to say was... shuttles.....
We picked a spot 6000m away from the nearest city for a reason, now that doesnt mean jack. Maybe we shouldnt place the structures till they figure it out.... bah.
"your city"
Therein lies the core problem. You misunderstood & had flawed expectations which DO NOT match reality: no one has a city. They just happened to have put it up & happen to live there. But they don't own it & don't make the rules for public behavior.
