What about elections where no candidate is registered to run? Such as the Mayor withdraws and no one else registers to run? What happens then? Does the city poof? Or does it default to the incumbent whether they are registered or not?

from what I was told before, it goes back to the incumbent.

> xp per vote is tripled
XP per vote is tripled because the number of elections is reduced threefold. Therefore the total XP is the same (not counting the 750 bonus, granted).
> this is for encouraging active politics
Fine in theory but for guild cities or cities where no one wants to run against the mayor it's just creating a tedious chore. What politicking is involved in campaigning in an election that is decided before it even starts?
Don't get me wrong there's a whole bunch of good stuff posted up there. I don't see this particular change as beneficial.

I'd like to get clariifcation on races where nobody is running against the mayor. Do we get the incumbant exp at 100per as before?
If not, yea it may be tedious, but every other profession has to work to get experience, why shouldn't we?
I'm pleased with the changes, they addressed more than I expected out of the blue and seemed to do it fairly.
You still can't resign from office, but you can change mayors much easier now.

so if you get all the citizens to vote for you, then you get the 1500xp for free
noone has to run again the mayor if they don't want to. however, the mayor will have to encourage folks to vote (I asked them to extend the voting period so folks don't have to do it every week), and citizens will now actually have to participate in something besides voting an old mayor out. one click every 3 weeks isn't reasonable, and that's only if the mayor needs xp.

See I'm not sure that I like this. Me and some friends just started a new city and all my mayor alt has is Novice Politician. Its great to have the extra EXP but now that means my city is going to be growing at a slower rate right? Because I have to wait 3 weeks as opposed to getting 1k exp every week (we have 11 citizens).
I'll have to see how this works out. I can see both angles on this one. Definitely keeping my mind open.

Right now, my Village has 33 Citizens. This gives me 3300XP per week.. 3300XP x 3 = 9900XP
After this patch, I can probably get 20 citizens to vote within 3 weeks time. This gives me 6000XP + 2250XP (from the 750XP per week bonus) and I'm at 8250XP. That's less. Now, of course if you can get all of your citizens to vote you'll be getting more....but is it my fault if it a citizen is idle? Of course not. If idle citizens aren't going to contribute to the city then they're just taking up space and you should be able to remove them.

Nice. This has been a long time coming....
Of course, it doesn't really do much for towns who are a year old and still have the same Mayor sacrificing 77 skill points with no intention of giving up...
Was kind of hoping the taxes would be fixed or we'd have our skill point requirements removed, but oh well. This will make a lot of people happy. Although it also has the potential to create a lot more attempts at hostile takeovers of cities and the destruction of them to place a new city hall elsewhere on full planets.
We'll see how it works out I guess.

I just did a few tests in Skystone and the current mayor has to register to vote or they do not show up on the voting terminal.
Fully tested the effects of the /cityban on travel.
A /citybanned person cannot buy a travel ticket at the city shuttleport, and if they already had a ticket the you cannot use the ticket by using the droid ordoubleclicking on the ticket.
If the banned person is at another shuttleport or starport they can buy a ticket for travel to the city they are banned from but they cannot use the ticket in anyway. The system generates a message that indicates that since you are banned by the milita you can not use city services.

Can you use /bo trans to use an existing ticket to leave a city you are banned from?
