Thread: PILOTS ON THE RIGHT TRACK...HOW ABOUT MAYOR.

OK i have tried holding my tounge on this issue for quite some time now and frankly im done.

Mayor of a player built city is great, however, I do not understand your logic in placing objects and city abilities for starter cities, in tier 2 and 3 areas, and in the tier 1 areas, place items a city cannot have till level 3 or better. No sense. Now pilots dont cost any skill points to have, I agree with that logic, now how about us mayors, there is not at all very much skill wise or game affecting that would justify keeping a skill point cost for mayor, i understand a tree and XP i do, but truly how much skill and effect is the placing of a streetlamp. When a player is elected to office how come the Title of Mayor is not available for him to display? HOw about beefing up the mayorhood a little?

Mayor is a skillpoint consuming rank that offers little to no reward for the players who take it, it is a neverending pit of servitude to other players whims and fancies, and your damned if you try and give it up without affecting the city in which you charged of, Mayors should be allowed to resign. SoI guess I will sum up here.

I would like to see.

  • Skill point cost for mayors eliminated.

  • a selectable player title that can be displayed indicating mayor.

  • re-structuring of the current tree.

  • new buildings such as militia center ( police station) with milita controls for the militia captain to use),

  • the ability to place public crafting stations

  • the placing of statues and fountains to overlap building footprints, also so the overhead view is enabled as an option when placing them.

  • the ability to city ban restored ( However make it associate with a player CSR ticket to explain and merit any banning with evidence) this would be no more time consuming than regular harrasment tickets. Further for harrasing citizens the mayors are powerless, the ability to apply the same concept to revoking city rights with 48 hours notice to the offender to vacate the city with the same CSR ticket explanation should be further allowed.

  • More selectable styles for all current buildings houses, city halls, etc.

  • Ability on the city contol terminal to email citizens.

  • 24 hour delay and notification before a citizen can leave a city co mayors can compensate if need be.

  • Seats and Furniture in the parks actually to be usable.

  • more city enhancements a mayor could use like being able to place ( walls, fencing, quest npcs, atmosphere npc's, junk dealers, etc)

  • roads and paved areas

  • streetlight cap tripled so instead of 10 per city rank 30

  • shipwright trainers

  • master politicians able to run for other offices like non player city mayorship, governer, etc.

  • decorative buildings like in major cities actually usuable as rentable apartments, shops, etc.

  • a player starport " non usable for transport ships, but as a place where players with ships could land.

  • city rewards mayors can grant to players

  • npc city defenders at the mayors call for city defence

  • player city events like attacks by critters, or opposing faction forces.

  • imperial /rebel presense

Anyway just some of the things i have been wanting.

I am not convinced of that, I read the combat update forum and their take on getting the problem fixed first rather than the lets throw them something by this date approach is a good step, JTL is working well and the game dynamic is starting to approve, perhaps if we keep up the requets and traffic here we will receive some attention...I am optomistic.

I agree here... TAKE SKILL POINT COST AWAY from being a politician...it would not throw away the balance in the game with no cost to be a politician.

i agree on taking the skill point requirements away.

i am a Mayor maybe 2 hours a week at the most. I'm a Teras Kasi Master and Ranger all the time. and if I could get the Politician skill points back, i could master Ranger, and use my uber Ranger powers to destroy all hotpants across the galaxy.

/BRAVO!!!!! I wholeheartidly agree with the post and wish that the elected mayor could resign when he/she wished! I am running for mayor, the current mayor wants to either quit the game or not have to mess with the administrative pain of being mayor, but we can't get enough people to log in and VOTE!!!!! Using skill points to do Pol reduces the amount of players going into this important profession.

it offers no crafting no combat pretty much nothing worth the usage of skill points

master takes what 56 skill points or something like that.

Even if they could cut it down to 1 skill point per box like the fs tree i'd be happy!

I would gladly accept the skill points i spent for Master Politician if only it would offer some more possibilities. I will stay there anyways, but my gaming experience and the community of roleplayers i care for would be increased if we community leaders (which most are) would get som dev-ilish love.

heh,I wish it was only 56. I takes 77 skill points to master any non-elite profession, and 63 to master any elite profession (plus the low level prereqs). Dropping our skill points to 1 per box would be wonderful, I feel like all other professions have some way to make money in the game, but as a polititcian we rely on donations from citizens just to keep the city alfoat. I couldn't imagine pulling money out of the treasury as a "salary."

I agree, Politician should cost very little (akin tothe Force Sensitive trees, 1 skillpoint per box) or nothing at all.
