Hello,

I checked the FAQ and stickies for this, but couldnt get an answer for this.

If a players house, inside my city, runs out of maintenance in the house, and his perman AFK characterhas 0 credits to his name, what happens to the house?

Thanks.

IF the person doesnt have any money in his/her account....then the house will decay like normal.

Not sure where you got that. If they have no money the house is officially condemned. It goes no where. That is why the mayors where upset with the condemnation changes they put in. As it stands now, there is no way to burn a house out of town, nor even a way to wait it out. If you see houses disappearing now, its because the owners are playing on another sever and deleted the toon for whatever reason, or deleted it to play a new toon on the same server. Lets put it this way. My city has 86 citizens. I have not seen an email about a house disappearing, nor a character leaving town....except for known active characters moving homes around or pulling homes to adjust their lots...ever since that publish went in.

If anyone is seeing emails on houses disappearing on dead acocunts, let me know...because that means I am bugged. :/

^^

That's right.

The player, after he's left will have his house paid for by his bank account. When that reaches 0 it receives a 'CONDEMNED' status and just vegetates.

Our mayor is in trouble with a house of a DELETED character that is condemned and decayed, but seems not to disappear. As the character is deleted, could this be a bug and corrected by a CSR?

All items belonging to a deleted toon should be removed. That would be a bug, but you have to get the CS to actually investigate if the acocunt is truely deleted. After all, its possible that the person canceled their account and said it was deleted. Many people seem to think that the 2 are the same.

And in case anyone reads this thread and missed it in the FAQ

the word from the bosslady (Tiggs): "Condemned houses will stay until the time that the Character/House Purge system kicks in and clears out houses of inactive characters and cancelled accounts." no word on when the purge will be (I made sure to ask)

Well once it reaches condemned status, presumably it'll disappear if either the character is deleted or the player account maintenance is done.

Good grief...read the whole thread first :/

just 2 posts above yours, I posted the following as a quote from Pappi about what Tiggs said on the matter.

So while they will go away if the toon is deleted, they will not go away when the maint pool is empty. When the Maint pool is empty, the house then becomes condemned. After the house is condemned, according to Tiggs, the purge is the only thing that clear a condemned house.
