Politician

  • Politician skill boxes will no longer require skill points to train.

On test center

Some have hailed this, some have not.

I know I willl have to be more careful of grieving now since there is no cost. Anyone can run for mayor with no penalty. Just grab it. Before they had to make choices.

With no skill point cost I doubt we will be listened to anymore

No it won't.

Too many of us play the profession in a true sense and want viable player cities

I'll take that bet.

Anyone may be able to run, but will they get support? Something tells me that if you've pissed off enough of your city that there is a chance you're going to need to do a PR stint anyway. So relax about the risk of falling and solidify your friendships in town even more-so.

My thoughts exactly Kurrin.

I know if anyone ran against my current mayor, they'd never get my vote. He just does too good a job.

As far as nobody listening.. I feel the pain there (Master Gimp, er, Pistoleer/Master Scout+, er, Ranger.)

i don t see much risk in people running against me in my city

but

with a profession taking 0 SP and few but still often broken skills

i see no more use for it

instead of fixing politicians and giving them a function in swg, devs try to silence us with no SP costs

so i d say

repair/revamp politicians and lets them use SP s, maybe lil less then 77 but still at a certain cost

or

remove politicians from game cause now anyone can run arround as one just to have a Warmaster tag

What costs are skill points? If someone is pissed off enough they will drop 15 points and get the politician profession. To grieve you ONE.. you have had to allow them to live in your city in the first place. Second they would have to get enough people to vote you out in the city. If there are that many people who would vote against you in a city then yes you should be removed from the position of mayor, that is how democracy works.

The real cost for mayors is the time that they put in, the effort and dedication they have to their city... that is what we pay with. I do not need to give up skill points to make me any better or important at the job I do as mayor.

Well, in all honesty, how much were they listening to us before? It has been more than a year that the master box has been empty, for example. Our top 5 has only changed with the interests of the Politicians, not because our issues are actually getting addressed. I doubt much has really changed in this respect.

My comment is: You seem to imply that politicians were listened to in the past...which they haven't been.

I still remember at FanFest the Devs basically said they were not going to do anything about politicain because there simply are not that many of us.

One ideaI have is to get everyone to go politican, and then maybe they may change things.

The only politicians who need to be worries are bad ones.

If you are doing a good job, building a strong city, and keeping your people happy, you will continue to be supported.
