Now that Poli doesn't take SP (thank God) I'm seening a increased number of my citizen wanting to run, just to get xp/badge. They dont' want to throw me out but they think that they can get the poli badge just by running every 3 weeks. Someone said they get 1k xp for just running against the incumbant. Is this tru? Is anyone else having this problem? I wouldn't have much problem with them running if I knew what kind of XP they would get without votes.

Just wait till one of them actually gets a couple friends to vote for them to get XP, and they beat you by "accident".
Make sure you are registered as well, and always have a huge majority of votes over the others....or youll be finding out why so many of us thought that the SP removal was a bad idea.

They'll at least get 300 exp per cycle cause they automatically vote for themselves. If you're good at managing your citizens then this can be okay, but be careful, a couple votes the wrong way and your city could have problems for a few weeks...

Politicians get 750 xp per week along with votes. They do not have to run to get that though
The incumbent Mayor gets 750xp per week along with votes, not every politician.

oh no, they have to remember to vote for themselves.
sorry, Pappi, but I'm not so sure of that...
since the new "3 week elections" went into place, I've been noticing that every time my mayor character registers himself for re-election, he immediately has 1 vote already in his favor without having to cast a vote

The same has been the case for me each time I register to run against my mayor. Although, the first time I registered, I had previously voted for him, and had to change my vote to myself.

hrm, I've been voting for myself, and I can't check right now since I'm in the middle of a voting cycle... I'll check on that later

Ok well I have about 10 citizens who want to run and get the badge so this is going to be an utter nightmare. I'm just going to tell them NO! rofl
OOH on the subject of 750xp per week....I do not receive this every week. I've written two tickets on it and each time the response is that you only receive it when you get your VOTE xp every 3 weeks. I cannot argue with these people so whatever....

Point them at knowledge base article 7509, which states: "Additionally, if you are the incumbent mayor, you will receive a weekly bonus of 750 experience, at each weekly maintenance period".
