Ok, here is my report. We already lost our cloning due to this bug.
- Galaxy - Gorath
- Planet - Dantooine
- City Name - Dragon Town
- Original City Waypoint - -3899 / 5955 (this was the waypt. I received as mayor when placing the hall)
- Current City Waypoint - -3877 / 5956 (this is the waypt. listed in the terminal,this new waypointis in fact right *behind* the cityhall)
- Meters difference between the two - 22mtrs (shifted towards the east mainly)
- Amount of time between placing our city and now: exactly 3 weeks, placed it on Thursday night (European time), 3 weeks ago

It's been three days today since I put in a ticket (for loosing the clone ctr) and still no answer.
If the city (location in terminal)can't be reset, I would at least like to see some reimbursement for the clone center and a fix that the loc in the terminal will at least now stay as is and not shift again.

We too have lost our cloning facility as a result of this gross oversight on SOE's part. I hope they will remedy this soon, i really dont want to have to build another one.
Ive had enough critical failures building this town to have one of the few good strucutres dissappear b/c of incompetant programming.

This is probably not the right location to post this, but as it is related, I'll post.
I have been thinking about this all morning at work (yeah I'm working hard aren't I?). I used to do some coding for a MOO (version of a text based MUD) which had space flight and such and we used to see this kind of error all the time. We had problems a lot in converting rectangular and polar coordinates. Location calculations duringgame time required polar coordinates, but storage was forced to rectangular. Our biggest problem was rounding in the mathematical calculations.
If you think about it, the position of anything in this game is in 3D, not 2D. People often forget the elevation component of where everything is in this game. We have all had times where we are standing half way in a mountain side, or we load standing in mid air because the game miscalculated our elevation.
Now I have absolutely no access to game code or anything and I don't know if this sort of system is in use in SWG, but this is something I have seen before. it would also explain some warping issues and error handling of missing items and such. When the game can't figure out an item's coordinates properly, it "poofs" things to 0 0 (0).
Just a thought on something the DEVs might want to think about if they have not already. If this is the issue, I'm sure they already know it.
