This is basically the end result from here although I'm sure hardly anything off this thread was used
Go ahead and check it out instead, it'll replace this in the sticky grouping sooner or later I'm sure. Pappi's just busy is all.
Weasle is kind of right that the old FAQ needs to be updated so let's just make a list of all the questions and answers that generally seem to crop up here pretty often etc. Then Pappi can make a new post and just cut and paste 'em all into there instead of having to rewrite an entire new one to sticky.
How many lots does a city hall take up?
- 0, all civic structures (ie city hall, cloning facilities, shuttleports, and banks) take no lots to manage.
How do I get industrial or scientific society?
- You can't. These two specializations where not working properly so the developers pulled them from the game and are working on either fixing them or giving us an alternate to fill in the master politician skill box.
Can I place a city on___ world on ___ server?
- The number of player cities that can be placed is capped. The 3 main worlds of Corellia, Naboo, and Tatooine are able to hold 20 and the moons and adventure worlds of Talus, Rori, Dantooine, and Lok can hold up to 40 cities.
- There is no way to know for certain the number of player cities on a world (it requires rank 3 to be visible on the map as a true city and not all are able to reach that rank) but a simple way to get a general idea is to open up your world map and select the mission terminal tab. That will show where all the mission terminals on the world are located at, ones sitting in the middle of nowhere are towns that take up one of those spots.
How does a politician get experience?
- For every vote a politician recieves s/he gets 100 points of politician experience. The incumbent mayor gets every citizen's vote defaulted to them at the beginning of every election cycleso you don't have to worry about voting drives unless you are a competing politician.
Why is PsychoticChipmunk so great?
Those are all I can think of off the top of my head, so please fill in the holes of my idiocy. We can probably get this done over the weekend considering all the vet poli's there are on the board that know just about everything there is to know.

Can I add people to the admin list of my city hall or Cloning center?
No, only the mayor can be an administer to the city all or cloning center. I hope you can decorate well.
How come I can not set taxes in my new city?
You have to achive rank #2 before you tax your citizens.
How come /citywarn does nothing?
This was taken out of the game to prevent greifing. Currently there is no way to police your cities
If a novice politican is elected over a more skilled politican what happens to the city structurs or specializations?
Absolutly nothing. As long as you don't remove or attemot to move the more advaned strutures you city will be fine. Same applies to specializaions. Just make sure you have the money to keep up with the maintenance
Can i redeed a city hall?
Nope its gets destroyed along with the city treasury.

Yeah, this is one we see here all the time. Maybe break the second point into a separate question for those skimming it quickly and not reading every answer?
"How can I tell if planet X has room for another player city?"
I'll try and come up with a few more later today, but this is a good start. ![]()

Q: Can I take money out of the city treasury? or Do I get paid?
A: A mayor has the ability to take 50k (?) out of the city treasury per week (day?).
Q: If I fall below Rank X, what will happen to my city structures?
A: If you have a city structure placed (such as a Bank, Shuttleport or Cloning Center) and fall below the rank required to have that city structure, it will cease to operate and will be removed by the system. Player-placed city structures (such as a Cantina, Theater, or Med Center) will remain as it is owned by a player and not the city. If you fall below 10 citizens at the time of your city update, the city hall will disappear along with the city treasury.
Q: There are structures in my city from players who have left the game/no longer active. How do I remove unwanted player structures from my city?
A: There is currently no way to remove player structures from a city if the structure was fairly placed (meaning with /grantzoningrights or with no zoning enabled and not due to a bug). A CSR may be able to assist you in contacting the owner or determining the status of the house maintenance. Placing items that prevent a player from accessing their structures is considered griefing.
And have to update the "How does a Politician get xp?" to reflect the new process.
I'll keep thinking.

It's 50k per day. Just to clarify.
I cried after i saw the system message that I successfully (and accidentally) deposited 5.7 million credits into the treasury and learned the mayor could only withdrawal 50K/day. If I recall its not the same with the PA terminal. Is this Top 5 worthy? Otherwise, my contribution.
Q: What happens if the Mayor drops the Politician profession?
A: The city and city hall remains in tact, but you won't be able to manage the city, e.g. modify mayor only structures like trainers.
Edited so you don't think i'm a complete moron and deposited my life savings into the treasury on purpose, tho i do nominate myself as 90% idiot for that move.

I kind of inherited a city on wanderhome. The mayor we had just kinda disappeared with out warning. My question is..I am 2/2/1/0 I know I can place a shuttle, bank terminals. Now the city numbers have shrank and for some odd reason the boundaries are shifting. We need to be able to pull our city together some how so that the existing residents dont have to mve, and we can fit the new guild in. I hear that If I remove the CH it will go poof. If I move the shuttle, and bank, will that change the staus of the city..or until we actually lose folks will the city remain as is other than the few move to the bank and shuttle. We would like help if possible, we are an active group and dint se this one coming. If we could just get the hall pulled up closer to the rest of the residents would help us greatly..alot of taxes are in the hall, I'd hate for it all to go to waste due to someone else's selfishness. and I'd hate to make folks move who have been established for several months now and have made a home where they presently are. Anyone else dealing with that. Is there a simple way to keep it together till we recoupe our active folks...Im new at this so anty help would due. Thanks.
