Thread: Fighting mad yet again

Ah yet another week goes by, and yet another denial of advancement. So I shall send out my weekly customer service ticket and my weekly cry for help. I have been stuck at rank II now for over 6 months. I care less about a shuttleport, I just want a little extra space. Oh how this has got to be how we all feel. I find it humorous that as I read through the forums of the different professions, how frustrating this all must be for everyone regarding bugs and exploits. With an incompetant and outsourced group of CRS's it is a wonder that anything gets fixed. I am sorry to say all this in this forum, but as it stands I am very satisfied by the level of professionalism extended thus far by you guys (which is to say I really like you guys and gals) While we are on the subject of extending, I certainly feel like SOE has extended its middle finger in my face yet again....But in the end, it is important that I remain calm, and hope the idiots who made cross server residency declarations for defunct player cities possible, and fix what they have done. Am I banking on something good happening...YOU BETCHA!

I understand that moving is probably not an option you want to consider after 6 months. You get attached to places.

It may be worth it to you to get in contact with some of the other Player Cities on your planet. Find out what they're doing and just generally get to know the larger picture for your planet. It may be that you can find out about other cities dying, or looking to merge, or maybe even a well-established one that you could work with in some capacity. It's not a solution, but it may help to ease some of the frustration working with some other mayors (maybe some in similar situations).

Some good news about the character purge from Fan Fest Player City forum...the structure part of it is ready to go as far as the actual process goes. It's just waiting on a few technical issues with infrastructure to be fixed before it will work properly. So it's getting close.

They have the intention of sending out e-mails to everyone well in advance of this. They will also try to let mayor's know ahead of time what structures in their cities will be affected.

The way this is going to work is not a complete destruction of the stucture and items. What they are going to do is basically roll-up the house and items and place it in the player's bank. So they don't loose their items, only their land. Incidentally, they're working on making this kind of system available to players in order to make moving around easier.

I'll be posting more at the end of Fan Fest to sum up everything I've got notes on as it relates to Player Cities and Politician. So keep an eye out!

That is fantastic news! I'm so glad they'll just roll up instead of poof. That's a marvelous way to do it and I've long supported the idea. Will this be for all structures who run out of maintenance, or only in relation to a purge of some kind, like removing the buildings of all cancelled accounts, etc? If it's for a purge, I'll just have to make sure that by the time they do this, everything I have is out of the houses of friends who've cancelled and left me with admin! (I'm a packrat.)

Please also tell me this will take the place of the Eternally Placed Structure, where buildings are drawing on bank accounts for years and years. We have one vendor tent from a departed player that, at this rate, will be there for nineteen years by my math.

I have informed my residents about the possibility of the new changes coming. Everyone is VERY excitted to say the least. I know it will take time, but we at least now have a few definatives. I am pleased. Thank you for the moderation as well. I know sometimes folks lose track of reality in here and tend to fire off at the mouth. Yes people get frustrated, and yes this is the proper place for a constructive discussion. I see no place for needless one liners that do not add to the community or benifit anyone. My hats off to you for the superior work in your moderation. I feel we all have legitimate issues regarding our cities, and the discussions further advance and enrich the game play for everyone. In a nutshell...."A happy city=happy players." I apppreciate everyone here in the Politician Forum. BTW remind me to never EVER make Pappi mad. /cower

Woohoo! Go get 'em Pappi!

And who said anything about server merges? And why is that the first thing people think of? It was the first thing most of guildies said when I mentioned this to them.
