Thread: What's going on with QAVille? GreenMarine, please explain
I'm not totally sure how to interpret these numbers, so I'll just give them and make little notes next to them of what I think they are. These are from the city terminal info windows in QAVille on Test Center. Can anyone figure out what this means, and if it's a nerf to cities? I'm only giving the info that I think is pertinent to this matter.
From the Advancement window:
Max Civic structures 19 (this is the nerf, I think)
Max Decorations still 30
Max Skill trainers still 9
Max Mission Terminals still 9
From the Structure Report window:
Registered Civic Structures 55 (this list includes civic buildings, skill trainers, mission terminals, and decorations like street lamps)
From the Maintenance Report window:
Total Maintenance: 6,252,000
City Hall: 5,185,000
Civic Structure Penalty: 5,100,000 "You have 68 more civic structures than your limit of 19" (that's 75,000 per extra structure)
The rest of the numbers seem about right, given how many gardens QAVille has.
Now, here are the questions I have about this that I just can't seem to resolve.
Is the limit of 19 civic structures new?
Why does the structure report window say the city has 55 structures, but the maintenance report window says it has 87?
Why have a limit of 30 decorations if the limit to total number of civic structures (which includes decorations for some odd reason) is 19?
Why are decorations, mission terminals, and skill trainers even considered structures?
I think the limit to number of civic structures is great, and I'm sure necessary, but either raise the limit or don't include decorations, mission terminals, and skill trainers as structures. Am I misinterpreting any of this? Does any of this make sense to anyone else? Please, GreenMarine, settle these issues. What does this stuff mean?

Wow, I hope someone just made a typo in the code or something. Those numbers make no sense otherwise.... Unless of course they want cities to have almost no city items....
WHOA... MAJOR GRIEF POTENTIAL!!!
Follow me here:
1) Become a citizen
2) Drop 70-80 Lamps in a small house (which tally against the City's structures)
3) Bankrupt a city through excessive fines.
Anyone else see it that way or just me?

streetlamps inside houses tally against the city's total? There were at least a dozen in our cantina before I got the city customization skill, but I didn't see any maintenance for any or see any listed in our structures until I actually placed some as the mayor.
Yeah, they shouldn't tall against the city inside - they don't in my city even when I as mayor dropped them in the city hall. Only the ones I "place" outside do.
Few things
First, fountains and streetlamps inside of structures do not count against a city. For things to count against a city they have to be placed outside by a mayor using the /place decoration command.
Second, this doesn't look like that big of a deal. There is a seperate line item for trainers, terminals, decorations and civic structures. 19 civic structures is huge, why would you need more than 10? City hall, cloning center, shuttleport, bank, garage. You could have two of each and still be at 9.
30 decorations is pretty weak. What is the point of streetlamps if you can only place 10-20 of them to allow for gardens. In a city with 400m radius, 20 streetlamps is nothing.
if this is in the works and is another temporary issue, please don't wait until the night before patch to tell us. Give us some time to figure out what is important, although I can't figure out why streetlamps would be considered civic structures. This does deserve some attention and followup
