Thread: #4 and #5 issues: Garages and Resignation. Down to the easy ones.
I placed these issues last this week, as I think we can dispense with them very quickly and save our time and efforts for polishing up the our primary three issues. I think what we want on these issues can be stated simply:
#4 Garages: The Politicians would like to be able to place garages in their cities. We would like to be able to allow our citizens and visitors to base themselves completely out of our player cities without running back to the established cities every few hours to maintain vehicles. What is the status of implementation of garages for player cities?
#5 Resignation: The fact that default votes go to the incumbent makes it very difficult to arrange for a friendly succession from one mayor to the next. As long as there is at least one candidate in addition to yourself, you should always be allowed to remove your name from an election at the voting terminal.
If those look good, we can move right along on them. Let me know if you see changes that need to be made or if you approve of them as they stand.
Can't we take something else as #4 ... TH already announced garages to come in january or febuary patch .. no need to waste one of my preciouse Top 5 slots. I know the majority voted for them ... but so did they vote for /citywarn ...
I'd vote for Resignation up to #4 (even though I don't need it
) and Maintenacne reduction on decorations to #5 - of course only connected with raising the far to low cap for decorations ... I'd rather have more and pay more than have the same low amount only to save a few credits.
/agree
Good job, buddy - I feel like we are making some progress!

We are making good progress. Now we just have to get the devs to make some. ![]()
That's the tough part. TH gave me one piece of advice before I started here: "posting on the forums is fast. Game development is slow."
Agreed on both counts. Getting player garages shouldn't ba hard ti implement.
bonus question for the sake of it: Would it be interesting to require a Master Artisan to place and operate the garage instead of it being a player city building? The issue that arises, of course, is lot use. But if MA can make vehicles, they could get to repair them too. (And get some more money)

I kind of agree with DaQuilla here that resignation should go to #4 with #5 to raise the decoration cap. I do recall that TH announced that garages were coming to player cities, they just did not make it into the publish.
Garages are supposed to be money sinks for the economy and most master artisans need their lots for harvesters, factories, and their houses. I don't think many would want to give up lots to put down a garage for a city.

I would say that also would create some issues if the MA decide that he need the lots and remove it. Lost a cantina that way.
Which brings up a favorite pet peeve of mine. Whydo the cantinas andhospitals take up lots? Why are they not civic structures like a bank? Perhaps leave the requirement to place the cantinas and hospitals to be profession dependent, but make them civic structures that the city pays for. As it stands now, most cities use their treasury to reimburse the players for these structures. Just another tedious way of doing things in the player city that could be improved.
I have to agree... garages will be in game.. someday...
bump #5 to #4
and my propose #5
city changes... cantina and medical center should be civic structure but still need master to place them
also lower the maintence cost a bit. The revenus cap does not equate cost.. decoration should be costing a little less.. and maybe having terminals, cloning center, insurance terminal, and trainers a percentage to go back into the city (since it is costing the city)
