Thread: #4 and #5 issues: Garages and Resignation. Down to the easy ones.
It would be nice if money spent at a garage, or a tax above and beyond the typical cost (aka shuttle tax) went into the City Coffers.
Same with Cloning, but I digress ... ![]()
Sounds good but I'd swap the numbers. Also what city rank is the requirement for player garages? I'd love it to be a rank 2 (they get nothing outside of hope to reach rank 3) or 3 building since every little town in the world has at least 1 mechanic.
If, however, your changing it then I'd go with the decorations. Not only ask for the cost to go down but ask for them to implement more items we can place outdoors such as Patio furniture. Just let it be the same art as exists right now for normal furniture but have them be considered decorations. That way a cantina can have a nice little luncheon spot outdoors for weary travellers.

Well what happens if I just remove myself from the election on the day of the upgrade and noone is running against me?
My suggestion went like this: "As long as there is at least one candidate in addition to yourself," just so that something like that couldn't happen.

I think PsychoticChipmunk was more arguing with Mkappus over his comments on mayor resignation and pointing out a flaw.

Now we just have to get the devs to make some.
That's the real trick isn't it..
Henry Ford : Here ya go, 1 black model-T.
Owner: Can I have a red one?

I see the possiblity for a problem if you remove yourself from the election on the day of the update. But what happens if I drop all my politician skills even if there is no candidate?
Right now I think some mayors feel they are prisoners to the city and can't easily get out. Is that the only way to resign right now, drop novice politician?

Good job, buddy - I feel like we are making some progress!
Me too ![]()
- #5 to #4
- Garages as Civic buildings (not player)
- /agree to both
Bajeezus, the above poster was right, we're getting garages anyway, don't waste a slot on them.
I looked at your list of issues, and I'm embarassed to say that most of them don't seem that important to my life and work as a Mayor.
I need practical issues addressed that affect me (and I'm sure others) every day.
- All the residency shenanigans when someone relocates in town. They want a bigger house or to move closer to the market or something, and you have to jump through hoops and bite your tongue while they redeclare residency, get Lost as citizens, then *maybe* later get Added again - or maybe you have to wait 24 hours and try again- and in the meantime you're Updated and lost that XP, etc. They should relax the redeclare rules within city limits - you should be able to do it as often as you want. There's no exploit possible that I can see.
- Removing militia. Why should there be a requirement that the guy you're REMOVING be within 10m of the City terminal? That means that you can never remove someone for misbehavior or reorganization as long as they're clever enough to avoid the City Room. The Militia should serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. If I want someone out, they're out.
- For the love of G_d, give me a way to determine the owner and maintenance/damage status of any structure within City limits. I don't need to get in there and violate their privacy. I just need an additional option on the Radial menu for the house sign or the harv/factory, called 'Civic Status', that lists who owns it and how big its maint pool/damage is.
- They have to fix the Time Gap between when they city terminal says you'll update and when the server actually does it. You go into error message limbo for minutes or hours.
This is the kind of thing I care about. In terms of new features, the only thing that would really be useful to me would be Vice Mayor - a Novice Poli (or better) whom I could appoint, who would be allowed to exercise their own Poli skill in town as well as enjoy permanent zoning rights and City Hall admin rights, and they would get 10% of my votes at each election. This would be a great way to groom a successor.
Thanks for all your hard work.
I agree with the Top 5 we have now....If we take out the garages then the Devs could take it that we dont really care that much. Lets keep the preasure on!!!
Regarding decoration costs.....Do y'all really believe that they would lower the cost...I doubt it....I cant recall any item that had a cost to it being reduced. Dont get me wrong Im 100% behind reducing the costs on decorations but I just cant see it....Let's put Decorations on next months list..
Happy Trails
Garages should not be a top 5 issue. They have already said they are coming and wil be released in February or March.

I would make resign/remove from election #4, and city chat #5.
