Thread: anyone out there know of a palce where a mayor who cant afford his own town can run?
I was a architect and built my own cityhall and started a town, but either you join a pa that wants your skills.
Or go to a town you think you have chance to become mayor and run for election. talk to the citizen to get more votes.. thats all you can do :/
If you make it clear to a town that this is what you want, and are willing to wait, I'd be surprised if you can't find a town to take you. We welcome politicians in our town to do this, but they'll just have to wait until at least one politician has the basics (this is not a "rule" as much as the citizens have been urging each other to do this).

How Dare you think of coming into OUR town to run for Mayor. How dare you steal votes from OUR mayor. If you don't take your name off the ballot and get one more vote WE will ban you from OUR city and chase you out of OUR town. WE invited you into OUR city as our GUEST. you have no right to run, if you came to even 1/20th of the vote to win we would ban you from town. this is OUR City.
Sound familiar? Im sure you've heard it too. Someone recently told me that after I put my name on a ballot to run just to get a few points of XP. Face it, when SOE changed Zoning rights to include homes they turned cities into nothing more than extensions of a guilds Hall. My suggestion is to find some friends and move into a city and run anyways. Mounts and vehicles will be here soon. Just tell them if it takes an extra week for shuttle port oh well.
Politician involves politics. play it up. Talk with all your neighbors. Tell them what you are looking to accomplish in city. offer people that which the current mayor can not.

ya i thought it would be no big deal to get just a few votes in a town with 305+ ppl but the guy said it was votes taken away from the town and affected the whole town in a negative way...i'm still wondering y would 3 votes matter i mean he has 32 left atleast

While it does sound pretty nasty....you have to remember that getting politician experienceonly happensonce a week...and is a pretty smallamountin a lot of cases. The difference between 35 votes and 32 votes can mean getting that skill box this weekor getting it in a weeks time.
However evil it seems to you....most people look at the long hard slog of getting politician exp and would rather not cripple themselves (even if it's only by a tiny amount) in order to help someone else out, and even if i disagree, i understand them completely.
It's the same reason that a Master CH / trying to master a combat class won't pick up 3 or 4 new players that he doesn't know and take themhunting - he doesn't need them, he doesn't know them, andthey'd slow his exp down.
It might well beanti-socialand a whole host of other things.....but it's the way the world works. People want things as soon as they can get them. All they get out of the deal is to "feel good" about themselves....for some people thats important - you need to find those people......unfortunately you haven't yet. Just don't expect everyone to be like that.
