Will cities get chats that automaticly add citizens in the recently announced "additional chat channels" mentioned in Gary's "State of the Game" Letter (unfortunatly the Letter is presently not viewable -a copy can befound here - it's the letter that announced Smuggler Revamp would be after JtL)

My favorite dead horse: I would like to see "Mayor" or "Mayor of <city name>" as a tag. I feel it would help to get more inquiries and I jus think it would be neat. I'm proud to be a mayor.

I'd like to 2nd Vinjars question - or more precisely a question like......


"Are there any plans for the Mayor of cities to be granted a viewable title similar to the existing profession based titles, and if this is planned, when could we expect it to be implemented".


Failing this one getting support, I'd also like to put forward another one......


"Owing to the nature of the way the Politician Profession operates and the way the experience is calculated and awarded on a weekly basis only, are there any plans for allowing Mayors to retain political experience points if they drop the Novice Politican skill?"

my only question is:

when will the politician profession see any level of revamp... i have not seen one non-critical fix since the professions creation... all other questions are mute since they won't be addressed till this one is...

this question I can probably answer:

we don't have any major fixes or revamps until after JTL, because greenmarine, our dev, is working on JTL. the next "big" thing we have at the moment is the GCW revamp, which we can get *some* of our requests in.

By the very nature of the game people come and people go. Player attrition causes a major problem within cities leading to vacant properties with huge slush funds that prevent them from burning to the ground in the near future. This leads to "ghost" cities and as the players vote is automatically cast for the current mayor makes it near impossible to change Mayor even when the current mayor is "active" let alone AWOL.


With the arrival of JTL we will see a huge influx of players to the game a large majority of them choosing to leave after their 1 month trial, this will exasperate the problem of inactive players and their structures taking up valuable lots and votes.


What are the Devs’s planning to do to counter this current and growing issue ?

I quite agree with Deepcore's posts and the many other posts we've had on this issues. We need an acceptable way (without it being abused/exploited) for a mayor who wantsto resign. I think, that's a top issues.


And as a follow up, I also think, it should cost less to maintain the *BASIC Player city - as well, to have certain things available onlyto Player Cities that only Citizens can take advantage of - giving players more reason to join one.

Would the devs consider the random spawn of npc "visitors" to cities? We had an imperial npc randomly wander into our mall and start searching people and it was a lot of fun.


Pain in the butt for me, as I was restocking a spice vendor I was operating for someone, but there you go.


It'd be nice to occasionally see people wander through like they do in NPCs... Maybe an option in the city hall terminal to pay for a certain level of spawning?

Will cities be allowed to become factionalized with the GCW revamp?


and....


With the GCW revamp, cities will want its own militia force of NPCs, along with any PCs who would like to volunteer for that. Will player cities be allowed to spawn local defense force NPCs to both help enforce local laws and possibly repel factional invaders (especially if the city is allowed to become aligned with the GCW revamp)? And will these NPCs be allowed to change depending on the city's allegiance (spawns storm troopers for Imperial cities, and rebel commandos for Rebel cities)?

there is growing concern about retired citizens and the election process. If the ammount of retired citizens exceeds the ammount of non-retired citizens a new mayor can never be elected leaving the current mayor in a pickle if he wishes to quit the game. Also with the "lot" problem, many citizens are putting down multiple structures in cities then retiring from play. Some cities may not be able to add new citizens inside the city limits leaving the city to fester at it's current size. Is there anything in the works to a) allow mayor to see who owns what inside the city limits, b) allow a mayor to remove citizens from the city, and c) allow mayors to remove structures from within the city limits?


There's your 19 questions question.

Question: Can the Dev make a way for old mayor/inactive to be remove after X time or allow resign as long another mayor runs against the current one?


Suggestion: for inactive, if a mayor doesn't log in the last 4 weeks, a challenger mayor can register and win the next election automactically (if a sole runner) if there are competitors those with the most votes (not including the inactive mayor) wins... thus if only 40 people voted and the inactive has 55.. it doesn't count.. only the recent vote of the two candidate running votes will count..


Question: When will we have an ability to find out what type of income/amount we are getting. It would be nice each time the money is deducted from our city, we also get information regarding how much taxes in sales we collect, also in property tax, shuttle, garage, income tax etc etc.. even donations.... of course it would be nice to have something that is "real time" at the terminal so we can tell that what is our greatest income revenue.

This may be an issue that only effects me but I've been told by quite a few CSR's to bring this up and most agree that is should be doable.


Currently, there is a way for a Merchant who is also the Mayor of a city to use a work around to place a vendor in City Hall. Since there is no option for a "Create Vendor" from the Structure Management Terminal and using the work around is considered an exploit, can we expect to see this feature added in the future for those of us who have both Merchant and Politician skills?


I won't go into the work around but I had to take a CSR to City Hall and show him the vendor to get him to believe me. It took another 5 minutes for him to get a confirmation that even though it's not impacting any game issues, it's still considered and exploit since it is doing something "not intended". I was using it to sell house deeds to potential citizens and had planed on adding the barking feature to inform new citizens of the city message boards and who to contact for placement.


I may post on this in the Merchant forum as well since it totally shocked the CRS who was helping me. Just my two cents on the question.
