last week in politics

I have NO clue what happened in my city this week. the good things about being on vacation I'm getting reports about dark jedis spawning outside of the city due to bugs, and some of you guys have sent me reports on the sales tax bug. no news yet, I'll bug them when I'm more awake O.o

I'm caught up on all the threads here, and am gonna start another thread on the sales tax thing so I can push it again... I'll make a reply here when I get more reports from my militia

so how was your city this week?

Dear Pappi:

City of Rauha, Naboo (Starsider)

This week saw some more garden changes (Swar made it to large gardens last night!), and basically pulling the community closer together. People are working together on stuff, one person going to another for crafted parts, others grouping up and going hunting - starting to work together better now. Have had several interested parties looking at our city as a place to settle down, so looking forward to recruitment possibilities in the near future.

Other than that, not muche else going on in Rauha this week. Mostly just fun and people getting together more often to do things together.

Oh, and the Rauha Mini Mall (for local novice merchants to get XP and sell loot and stuff) is a huge success. Have had 3 merchants who vend outta there get enough XP to register their vendors on the map (and thus will be leaving the Mini Mall) due to people just stopping in and checking it out. It's working as intended, and we're very proud our experiment has worked thus far.

Good Morning Pappi ,

Been a lil over a week an half since i last let people know how we are doing . Was out sick unfortunatly . So far the city is still growing but no where near the first weeks 40 members , we have 44 at current count . I was doing some open recruiting an had the numbers up to almost 50 befor our second update , but of course i had a lode of the people why just want to milk you for what they can an move on to the next city thats looking for people . We did just have our third update saturday an finaly was able to build a clone center an med center . Hopefully with our location that will help bring in more members .

Still haveing people in town complain about duel taxes from a town we moved from , but hey thats been around since i can remeber , should have expected it , lol . With us being on dant we are running nightly solo groups from town an thus alowing for max property tax a week (although right now its only 500) . We now have 2 new master dancers - Senobee , an Abbiey - an one new master doc - Worf' - which brings us to 2 dancers (lol) an 3 master doc's . I also have been running warren groups the past 2 nights to help fellow citizens get their badges in anticipation of pub 10 .

Finacialy the town itself is a good sinkhole , but i kinda planed on this . I have 2 accounts one of which is a crafter an my loot vendor on tat bring in more money per week on a bad week then the towns upkeep 4 fold , so i figure it will be far off befor i have to ask for a donation . Curently i beleive we are at aprox 450k a week (i may be a lil off) .

The Guilds in town as of now is 2 , one a town council , the second a guild one of the council members formed for anyone wanting to join . Marl is running the guild an like the town has adapted a neutral status alowing any faction members to join , no pvp unless agreed upon by both parties . We are still looking to see if any other new guild or exhisting guild are looking for a new home , an are hopeing in the long run to have a sizable amount of factional player on both sides in town . If we can do this we are hopeing to plan a lil rp war useing the guilds to set up oppisite faction bases at oppisite ends of town an makeing a free for all war weekend (assuming one town can have both bases , im not very familure how towns an faction bases are set up) .

Other then that there is little to report . I would like to say conga-rats on the Adv-21 an the ability to have time off an play around with pub 10 on test , i hope you enjoyed it all . Btw the Adv is ncie i love mine , hehe .

Well, this past week marked the 6 week anniversary of New Kabala.

We are currently a 59k a week city that is still running off of donations. We accepted 2 new citizens last week, Kesmo and Di'ammato (sp?). This brings our city just a mere two citizens away from a Level 2 city. Other than this, not a whole lot has been going on in New Kabala, as many of our citizens were on vacation the past week.

One of our new citizens, Kesmo, has proposed a city resource wherehouse for our crafters. Basically it will be a common building, that all crafters and resource gatherer's have access to, in order to drop off, and pickup any resources they need for their day to day crafting. All of our crafters seem to really like the idea, and I think that we will definitly follow through with this proposal, and construct a city wherehouse. One good thing to come of this is that I can dump off alot of my stacks of organics (I am a Ranger) into the wherehouse, thus freeing up house space. I will still sell my high stat meats and hides, but any grinding quality stuff will go in the wherehouse for furniture makers, tailors, and others.

The pending Merchant Update seemed to have many of our business owners a little worried, but now it appears that the devs have decided to up the number of vendors available, as well as up the storage limits from the initial proposal. This was a great relief to our crafters, and it felt good for me to give them that good news.

Now if only we can get those two more citizens, then I can start placing some fountains around city hall, place a bank complex, and hopefully a Cantina (though we still need an Entertainer in our city so we can place that).

Good news:

  1. Establishing an eight person council and which two council members will concentrate on a specific area of the Commune. In three days, I've gotten 5 seats filled and should have the last 3 filled in the next 2 days.

  2. Discussion of trying to run a city event, but right now in the discussion stage.

  3. Two new residents.

  4. Finally got a CSR to come in to remove vendors from people who have left the game or had deleted that character to create a new one, so the merchant tents have new space for our new artisans.

Bad news:

  1. Preparing for the exodus of residents after publish 10. Too many are upset with all the proposed changes and I have been notified that I will be losing 8 residents since they will not be renewing their accounts.

  2. Loss of 2 residents to another player city.

  3. Dual citizenship bug has been discovered. I have 4 people listed as citizens even though they no longer live or have a structure in the Commune.(bug and csr report submitted).

  4. Preparing for the loss of the shuttleport if we don't get any new residents. Loss of people due to publish 10, the dual citizenship bugand the future mid-October account wipes will hit us hard and the lack of new people is making this extremely difficult.

Next few weeks will be interesting and more or less and sink or swim for us and a time for a total re-evaluation of the game itself.

Valley of Valhala on Naboo still remains the most populated city on the tempest server with 150 citizens and growing. We currently have a 20 member council and 6 member high council (millitia). At our next town hall meeting 2 members of our council will be promoted to high council as thier nomination should go unaposed.

After moving my trainers from around the bank to higher ground at the cantina we have found that they no longer dissapear. However we are still suffering from an inventory bug that seems to make items dissapear when citizens leave the building they traded or picked up an item from. I have found that if the items are traded outside it lessens the problem.

I am currently negotiating with a large guild that plans to move their guild to a new city, if all goes well we will be adding the cities 6th guild adding to our vast diversity. The guilds are hunting and conducting activity daily, as i tell thier leaders that activity and guild recruiting is a major key in city prosperity.

We have slowed our recruting process from agressive to moderate, i have delegated the responsiblity of recruiting to guild leaders and it is headed by a fellow high councilman.

We are currently in the process of replanning our vendor setup in our merchant tents as the 7 that we have are over packed and unorganized. We plan to make a merchant mall in a guild hall to free up space in the tents. However business has been good for the cities merchants.

Valley of Valhala's moral is a high as i have ever seen it and the citizens are proud to be a part.

Well, you can still buy at shuttle ticket to my city, and it actually drops you off in the field where our shuttleport used to be. Doesn't seem to be a big deal to CS and honestly, it doesn't matter to us, but it does occasionally make someone mad when they find out the round trip ticket they bought is really a one way.

Reminds me of the Eagles song, Hotel California. You can check in but you can't check out.

Patch 10 is going to lose us a bunch of people it looks like....but who knows?

Dohrian still stands and is almost as strong as it's best days.

I managed to get the streetlamps replaced and our treasury is built up to over 2mil again which is a nice buffer.

Still trying to get some of our regular merchants to help figure out if we've been hit with the sales tax bug.

It does seem as though someone is trying to oust me from my position as mayor. Not only have we had an explosion of new residents lately but one of my guildmates is now running for mayor with a macro telling people to vote for him while he stands outside of town.

I can't keep up with that advertising but I really do wish I could see who was voting for him cause at last check he had 11 votes.

We'll just have to see now wont we?

City X, Ahazi on the planet LOK

The city boast 65+ residents with over half out of game. My militia is on a daily mission to find and recruit new players into the city to get us back to metropolis status. I'm honestly not worried about JTL or Publish 10 as there will always be players to add to the city.

I tend to see an even amount of people added to the city as I see leaving the city... Some if not large majority of the new players join take the house and then disapear off planet. It's mostly beause we are on LOK and it's a hostile planet.

With my second week in term I've redone several trainers catering to the constant grinathon I can't wait for 10 so I do not have to commute as often.

- This week saw the resolution of our shuttle woes as the CSR helped us redeed the port.

- Guild leader is posting 100K to the first person to master dancer and a bonus 150K if they retain and achieve duel music/dancer abilities.

- I've weeded out the dead weight from the malitia and added our top hero's militia status.

- I experimented with a voting terminal and after dodo brains wrecked the terminal I have decided the concept is good but the practacality of placing the terminal in the cantina isn't the best idea as my vote and dta was accidently corrupted when some dodo brain wrecked it.

City X has all the amenities you're looking for in an imperial city. It has the shuttle port, clone center, garage medicenter, cantina, bank and a river running through it. Our Base was overun by terrorists last week and we havn't placed a new one. the shuttle can take you to Dark trench where the dual guilds Iebo and Syn mantain 3 bases at all time which sets the stage for many pvp opertunities. Living on lok boasts some of the galaxies best resources if you can crawl to collect your wares. If you are a crafter Lok is your calling, if you're a novice beginer, Lok may not be for you yet unless you attend a guild ran hunting session.

If you're in the Ahazi system and need an Imperial city and wish to help and make some new friends give us a look over Just ferry over from Nyms to City -x-.

The city of Athens, Correlia, Ahazi is doing very well. My main issue is still struggling to figure out active/inactive/cancelled players as well as track down rogue non-citizen residents of the city. I just recently did a census via email and a large number of people have not responded. I'm not worried about losing metropolis status as the city still has a strong player base; however it just annoys me to no end that I can't get an accurate list of inactive/cancelled accounts and non-citizen residents.

Other than that, Athens is currently working to further enhance itself as a premier shopping city by attracting more merchants to setup shop within the city. We've also got a secondary initiative to find entertainers and hopefully some enterainer guilds that are looking for a new home.

Lastly, everyone is asking about player city starports! :-)
