Thread: Why do so many of you want PRIVATE cities for just small numbers of people? That's dumb!
If you only have 10 people, why do you guys want a Player City?
What benefits do you think that they will give you?
If you just want 10 houses in a little private area, why not just set-up a Guild Hall, put your houses down and enjoy yourselves?
What do you think that having a formal Player City will give you? It will just burn your cash, bring unwanted attention your way and hit you with unnecessary overhead!
The whole point of the Politician profession is to employ politics - the acquisition of power by non-violent means.
A good politician should want to create a strong environment that encourages many citizens to flock there to share in the wealth and privileges that citizenship conveys. If you just want a private club, that is open only to your friends, that is not a Player City.
Also, I'm really shocked how many people are talking about cities as if they can be owned by a particular individual - the whole point is that a city is a civic thing - owned by the people that live there, not a particular individual or group of individuals.
If you want something for your own personal ego, stick to a Player Association!
Yours,
I don't see whay it should matter to you how other people get enjoyment from the game. If they want villages, they have every right to them.

5 person cities would not be dumb if there were no capps on the amount of cities on the planets but there are at the moment. So that means that those of us with 25-50 people waiting to get thier own starports and cloning centers are left out. And stop this crap about "I'm paying for this game too," this is a stupid reason to be able to screw up things for the rest of us.
You want a 5 person town fine, 5-10 peoplewill not count tword the city cap soon anyway, so all this bickering will go away I hope.
But it is true! They DO PAY for it also and if they want a 5 person city, let them. The caps will be lifted (will they truly?) and then the others can make one. This is like complaining that you didn't make Jedi, but someone who plays 1 hour a week did. Just because they do not have a huge guild or bank with 20m credits is no reason to say that they can not have a town. That is just outright lame. Sorry.
i hope so as well, but there are already people actively looking for ways to "beat the 10 person rule"
sad, just sad. If you can get the people to actively be a part of your city, then by all means you deserve it ( although if you have no plans to go above outpost i think the land lock you take up should be smaller).
Sorry, alreadyhavinglots ofpeople doesn't automatically make you more deserving of a player city than anyone else paying their monthly fee. Seeing smaller towns as just taking up your slot seems like little more than jealousy.Assuming that everyone who currently only has a 10 person city wants their own private little town is condescending at best.
Some of us want large cities, but wanted to wait todevelop themuntil the actualcity code went in.I'm surprised that this seems like such a novel idea to so many people. That way we'd know what we were dealing with when we got started, instead of assuming that we'd get our way because we had a lot of people and that our city would be viable even though we didn't know anything about Player Cities when we started it.
Don't blame the people starting the smaller cities, blame the devs whose implementation of the system left a lot to be desired.

I don't know if you all read that Havoclord is seemingagaist small groups with cities and that set you off or what, but I just want to understand what good you get out of cities like these? All I can see that your getting from it is a message that says "Welcome to Blahblahland" and rights to a small area.
To me, the cost of money (in and out of game) wouldn't be worth just that, but I guess for some it is?

If you think that politics is about the acquistion of power by non-violent means, you haven't been paying attention.
