While I agree with the 1 on 1 combat for the Bounty Hunter vs Jedi combat system. I disagree with the bounty hunters being able to do it within my or anyone elses city in front of my citizens. We need to either get city warn back (to force to BH to do his job quickly) or allow the militia rules to Override the 1 on 1 combat (ie if jedi is in the militia and is attacked in town then all militia can attack). Force the BH to hunt their prey outside the cities.

I wish you could cityban someonewithout needing them to be in your city at the time of ban

so you want an exploit that allows you to prevent people from attacking your jedi because he happens to be in your town at the moment? so you city ban all BHs who come looking for him/her which basically makes it so that the BH can't shuttle into town or use the cloner? so they just travel from the nearest NPC city and go after the jedi who can then hide in a locked house preventing the BH from completing his mission?

Personally I think that, the one on one TEF is rather short sighted.

It is the begining of a good Idea. It's just not carried far enough. As a Jedi, I like that my hunter is limited in whom he can bring. Yet the possibility of a five on one is still a little daunting. There needs to be some scenarios that a "smart" Jedi can create to change the scenario so he can get some assistance.

First off I don't think fighting should be happening in player cities. Militia TEF should be reinstated. But the militia wouldn't be able to attack right away. They should be able to use a new version of City warn that only works when a target is in combat within city limits.

This new version of city ban will be on a new kind of timer. Once a target is in combat withing your city a Militia member may then use city ban. The first five minutes of city ban open up the possibility to assist the Jedi, non-combat actions only, with healing and so forth. After those five minutes are up city militia npc's arrive to help the jedi. One npc per 10 citezens the city has registerd. These NPC militia will not be more than 12k ham but will attack anyone that has been city warned.

If the fight continues after militia have been dispatched and defeated the PC militia may then join the fray. Upon conclusion of combat, regardless of stage the Player that was city warned/banned will be ejected from the city for a period of 10 minutes.

This scenario will allow for the jedi to have minimal help within his city at first and slowly increasing as the fight progresses. It would also give the BH ample time to dispatch his target before overwhelming force is applied.

With city warn and city ban only appliable if the target is in combat, players should see a reduction in abuse of these to functions.

I forgot to add that i think anyone that helps a Jedi under this situation should also be placed on the BH boards. This is to afford BH's even more of an opportunity to complete their hunt. Players may hesitate to use city command if they no that doing so may bring down more adversaries upon the city.

I know BH see the jedi as Criminals, But as a Mayor I see the Bounty Hunter is a Criminal, He is a being coming into my City to commite murder. BH should be forced to hunt their prey outside the town the jedi resides in or take on the milita in said town.

I have to agree.. for the following reasons..

only way a militia tef worked before is if that Jedi was a member of the Militia..

Since the Militia is the defense of the town attacking a militia member is attacking the town and the town should be able to fight back...

I for one would love to see the Militia and GCW overwrite the BH jedi tef though I do love the way it is I want a fair playing field.. taking out a Jedi via lock out in a 30 v 30 battle is not fair.. and not allowing the player city to defend it's own citizen who is a member of the militia is also not fair..

Sorry but I disagree with this. If a jedi is in a city (PC or NPC) he has made the choice to take the risk of being hunted. Every jedi that comes through my city (even my own citizens and guild members) know that it is an open city with Jedi and BH alike passing through. If a BH shows up looking for a jedi and that jedi is in town then there's gonna be a fight. It's all about choices folks. The jedi made the choice to take the risk of being hunted and the BH made the choice to go after the jedi. If it goes down in a PC or NPC city then just sell tickets and call it Jedi Rumble 2005.

I have to agree. The milita as is has no purpose other then granting zoning rights. Milita=protectors of citizens and their property. If a jedi is a citizen of a player city they should be able to be protected against the bh's that comes. And from what I've seen, from bh's in my own city as well as others, is that if you want a jedi down, you get some bh friends to take the mission too. so its not necessarily one on one its 4 and 5 on one. If the milita were given back their rights of protecting its citizens then maybe you wouldnt have jedi's hiding in houses so much.

I dont think that city ban is going to do anything in this case unless they make it when you /cityban someone it tele-ports them outside the citylimits. now i know of a few people that i would like to see this happen to, but they arent bh's or jedi's. Citywarn got taken away because a few people misused its power, so i really dont see how they can put it back like it was, and unless they come up with a better solution, i dont think its that great of an ideal because it will probably come back with no power or broke altogether.

And i thought that city ban already stopped them from cloning, using the shuttle, etc. Is this not true anymore? Because if its not then whats the use of it at all now? Thats all it has ever been good for to begin with.

We can already cityban a BH when they show up to a city. I do it all the time to BH's, then explain to them that my city is a Jedi safe zone. I will unban them on their word that they do not use city resources (shuttle, cloner, etc) in hunting Jedi.

Having a community that helps Jedi hide is not unheard of. Having citywarn allows the militia to supercede BH TEF restrictions so that the militia can enforce the peace within the city. Before this was done on a 10 second timer (you were attackable after 10 seconds of being warned). I think increasing the timer to say 2 minutes after being warned should eliminate a lot of griefing that once happened. Once you get warned, you have 2 minutes to get out of town. With shuttle times now at 1 minute.. you have no excuse if you don't want to be forced into PvP against a city's militia.

Then again... that also gives you 2 minutes to complete your mission and get out of town... if you think you are good enough too. Would definately make things interesting to say the least.

There is a way to still use the shuttle if /citybanned. I'm sure not gonna mention it here!

The timer isn't the issue of /citywarn it's controlling areas that shouldn't be controllable. Entrances to caves and POI's etc. That was why it was removed in the first place. It could be an hour long wait and it wouldn't matter. They will not put in /citywarn unless it is completely changed. Didn't the latest new patches show howmuch the developers are against forced PvP?

However I do agree that the militia TEF should remain and supersede other restrictions. Like it or not this man is my friend and trustworthy enough to be on the militia. I'm going to fight to protect him if it is within my power to do so. You say this would tip the cup in the favor of the jedi, well then don't fight in the jedi's stronghold and the scales even out. He can't be a militiaman in every city on the server so why did you pick that city to go and fight him in? Also, you can bring 5 people vs the 1 knight, filling all the roles you need to win,and he can't get any help from anyone else. (read TC)That handicap is always helping you out in every other situation than within his city. Use it to your advantage.

If there is indeed still a way to use the shuttle if citybanned, that greatly disturbs me.
