Thread: The Publish 7 game code includes a (stealth) change that sets a two week limit on citizen inactivity

I personally know of a citizen of mine that has gone off to the middle east and may DIE for our country.
Do these devs see past a dollar?
That kid paid perfectly good, cold hard cash to play this game and his last decision before he left for WAR was to be part of our city, now when he comes back he's booted?
they need to offer alternatives .

well, I have great respect for the devs, but one of them made me feel uneasy the other day by mentioning an issue, then that "this is a business"... the latter really bothered me O.o
2 weeks is kinda silly... it doesn't account for people going on vacation. as someone else pointed out, what if the mayor wants to go on vacation for a little, say a month? is he/she force to give up their position, or risk losing the city?
I have 10 citizens who are in Haiti (marines). They left the US on Sunday the 29th. Obviously they are going to be affected by a 2 week timer.
If this is true it's totally ridiculous. This game is a business but that's not a move that will increase business. It's likely to drive off more players than it will retain them. I stand by my earlier statements: Citizens should not be removed unless 1) they leave the city on their own, or 2) they quit paying to play the game.
I don't think I missed your separate thread since I posted before you did, hehe...

(There's a separate thread about this here in Politician that Sunikka may have missed - but I'd rather ten threads about it!!)
Please be clear on the following: Italked to a top Dev,and the response was "I ran this by my lead designer. He is OK with the two week [timeout] because PC's [player cities] are a scarce resource." So it's not a typo or an oversight. They are going to do this. And the results are going to be brutal. Sure, on Gorath.Naboo it's a breath of fresh air for some other city to get in, but the new city better not take any breaks either!
