Thread: Our mayor destroyed our city hall: any advice?

Our disgruntled mayor was about to be voted out,so like a selfish brat he destroyed the city hall. Our city was filled with a lot old houses of people that no longer play.

I put down a new city hall but have all of 5 citizens not the 50 or so that we had before. So, is the city now a lost cause? I understand that people need to enter their residence in order for their citizenship to be declared. Now our city is filled with citizenless houses. Empty houses were fine as long as they kept up the citizen population. Now they are just taking up space.

Any advice?

My guess is that our only option is to start a new city elsewhere.

I would recommend filing a CSR ticket immediately and have them investigate the situation. If they can determine that the hall was destroyed so that the Mayor would not lose control, they can reinstate the city if too much time has not passed.

personally i am always glad to see cities supported by ghost houses fall. I run the second oldest city on ahazi. 2nd by like 2 min. but anywayi see old cities long dead that have less active people than a hillbilly has teeth. and yet they have tons of old run down houses from long gone players or the countless lot/citizen swaps so they can keep thier rank and shuttle for the very few that live there while newer cities that could be thriving are held back from ever growing due to the city caps.

personally i can not wait to see the character wipe they promised us a year ago now. god with a time table like that you'd think it was a fix for a commando or smuggler.

as for your city hall good luck. we once tried long ago to start a second guild ran city on another planet but two attempts at placing city halls were faulted by server lag that kept the city hall from ever appearing on screen for anyone. the hall never actually built all we saw was the construction marker and a message saying we were in the new town. but when we would try and place houses we couldn't declare. forogt the message we got. well anyways both times the csr's were adament that they can not replace structures. so we finally gave up on it.

Personaly I wouldn't count on the help of a CSR.

As for Robert I can understand, wh you do not like cities that rely on dead lots but that doesn't mean, they deserve to go down - there is not much a city can do about dead lots.

It was not as though our city was exclusively supported by lots of dead accounts. We have plenty of real citizens. But now, all of these lots are just a waste of space. I would welcome a purge. Now it looks like our only option is to move everyone to another location because our land could be much better used.

Ive been curious about Mayors who have fits and blow up CIty Hall rather than lose.

I mean werent there any warning signs long before that would have indicated that this Mayor was immature and incapable of accpeting competition?

I am just wondering how a Mayor like that was accepted for so long.

Oh yes there were plenty of warning signs. We saw this coming. He was the one who established the city in the begining , but he always dangled this possibility above our heads and we tried to appease him so he wouldn't do it. Our guild leader even filed a ticket in advance because we saw this coming. So when we had finally had enough and were ready to vote him out, the mayor destroyed it. There should be some provision in the mayor system that prevents this kind of thing.

As expected the CSR's were no help whatsover. I filed multiple tickets. Half of the time I dont even think they read my tickets. It was like they were responding to someone else's ticket.

They just said sorry we cant help you move structuresor you need to speak with the mayor (what good would that do!?).

Where do they find these people?

Guys, You must understand! CSR's WILL NOT help any player made decision or action taken no matter how destructive it will be. Like you make a Mistake and destroy something by accident they will not replace it.. DON'T ASK! They are there to help with Game glitches.

From what I read He Placed the City Hall and founded the city and became the Cites Mayor. I myself and I bet many others feel the same way, IfI go thru the trouble to place a City hall and help the city grow to have someone come along and try to take the city away from me. I would do all I can to prevent it. But, he took the most direct course of action. I would of tried to kick you out of the city like remove you from militia or remove your citizenship that would remove your vote from the register hench I would of continued being Mayor. I would of invite some of my friend into the city to give me there votes to push me over the top.. there are many ways to fight it.

Now, I dont know what happened between Your Mayor and you. As you guys said, you saw this coming and knew it was going to happen. You guys should just left and started a new City somewhere elseor work it out with him. But, You went behind his back and tried to take the city from him and you should accept the consequences of your actions.

Heh you make it sound like a city is the personal fief of the mayor. Why bother to have elections if this how it's supposed to be.

I understand that they're planning to make it more difficult for mayors to arbitrarily destroy cities. Cities are usually never the work of one person, i.e. the mayor. They usually have help from a great number of people. It is very selfish for the mayor to consider the city he/she is mayor in as their personal property when so many other people have contributed to the success and continued existence of the town.

Btw putting yourself on the ballot to run as mayor is not going behind someone's back.
