Manufacturing Center- 50k credits / week Crafting done in a 'Manufacturing Center' earns a 10% bonus to prototype assembly results, significantly reducing the chance of failures.
Research Center- 125k credits / week Any experimentation done within a 'Research Center' is enhanced. A 15% bonus to the final result roll is added during the experimentation phase of crafting.

Entertainment District- 80k credits / week Entertainer healing is 10% more effective in an 'Entertainment District'.
Medical Center- 80k credits / week Medical healing is 10% more effective in a 'Medical Center'.
Stronghold- 150k credits / week A 'Stronghold' has trained its militia members to the peak of their abilities in the methods of tactical defense. Militia members in a 'Stronghold' get a 50 point bonus to all defense rolls against other players.
Personally I think the more useful ones are Manufacturing, Research, and prehaps Job Market if your citizens use the mission terminal in your city a lot. Our city is set to Manufacturing since another mayor on my server told me that switching to Research gave her citizens negative results, and costs a lot more. If you're not worried about funding, prehaps you can try both out ![]()

Doh !!
do your research !!
thanks - ok, now I know what they're all supposed to do ....
do they all work as specified ?
Your comment seems to suggest that research centre doesn't ........ which is a shame, as I expect that will be the most likely request ....
Manufacturing looks useful too, and I know how useful improved job market is ......
The rest look a little pointless .....
honestly I haven't tried them so I don't know if they work or not O.o
I know of plenty of cities that uses research on other servers, so I assume that it's just our server that's problematic. you might want to ask around and see what other mayors think about research, since i think that's the most popular choice.
I think the bonus to experimentation comes in that you have a 15% higher chance of getting an amazing success, but who the hell knows.

Am I the only one who thinks Research is broke???I've played around with this so many times, and I don't see my 15% experimentation. Correct me if I am wrong, but 15% sounds like a 10 point crafter should really be getting results as if they were 11.5 point crafter. I am both master politician and master armorsmith... and I do most my crafting in my city, I have noticed the EXACT same results with it on or if I walk outside the city and craft with my droid. What gives? Can someone please clarify what Research really does? And I know it's not the chances of critical failures because I got 3 criticals in a row last week when I had this specialization turned on.

Also, I am guessing there is a cap on the bonuses you can receive to crafting/experimentation and it is fairly likely that the +40 crafting stations in current circulation, mixed with the innate skill of the crafter already reach those maximums as it is... So even if it works, it probably won't work for very skilled crafters... What really concerns me is the reports of increased critical failures... This simply shouldn't be the case, and if it is true, and not just some fluke, then this is a bad thing indeed.
+40 crafting station is a scam
I am quite positive the 15% bonus is broke... I've had other crafters in my city give me the same feedback. So as a city we decided not to waste 125k on it since it didn't seem worthwhile. And for those who are superstitious we have a "embassy" set up in a city that is 2000m away, and they always have it on
So I send my citizens who don't believe it over there to make their schematics ![]()
I don't think the +40 crafting stations are a scam... I have seen them placed and crafted by guild members... when you examine them and they show the quality in the appropriate spot in the examinination window. I'm pretty sure about this... Why do you say it is a scam?
But, at any rate, it would be nice to know definitively about the effectiveness of thisspecialization... Many in my city would like to utilize it... and if it is broken when it will be corrected would also be a nice question to have answered.... hmmm...
