Thread: The New Correspondent (voting and proposals)

Well since Baj just had a kid (congrats again) his schedule and all that is changing so we are going to need to have him replaced, he's said so himself. Well rather then fill up his leaving thread, or his announcement of limited play-time thread more accurately, with propositions of replacements and vouching support for one or another let's just do it here. So propose anyone that you feel would do an outstanding job as correspondent here and vote for that person here.

I personally feel that they need to be the mayor of at least a rank 4 town (which would exclude myself as if I wanted the pressure) so they can test basically everything. A metropolis would obviously be preferred but unless exotic gardens get fubar'd I don't see it as being that much better then a "city's" mayor.

Well let the politiking begin!

Iwould definitelyconsider taking this position.

I am the mayor of a rank 5 city on Corellia, Starsider (Elysium).

If I am not picked, or decide that this position is not for meI think that the new correspondent should have serious technical background, as I think we all know that web-experience, forums administration, Web-site maintenance, and often coding skills are required in a good mayor, and a good politician correspondent should have the skill necessary to not only accomplish these things, but make better tools available to other politicians... Something I am seriously interested in doing.

I think I will grandstand for my sucessor in the city of New Unity on Test Center. Pappi has been an excelent mayor. Always attentive, never muled one of those great politicians while not being liked by some - was always grabbing Baj by the ear and tell him what-for about city bugs and issues.

A good choice, a mayor who cares and someone dedicated to making her profession better.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Something needs to be done about this profession, especially something that progresses the multitude of issues we all have before the eyes of the Devs and gets things happening.

To anyone who's thinking of taking the job.... commit and continue! We are mayors and you know what this means

I'm far too obligatedto even consider it.

How are we going to unseat Baj when all the votes go to the incumbent?

Seriously though, what's the process for this? I'm interested in serving the community in an official capacity and I'm even-tempered!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, as some don't know - my alt is the mayor of Smuggler's Cove, Naboo, but it's not reflected in my signature because t0fu from the Radiant forums screwed us all

I vote for hajihill.

He has been an impressive force in the conception and growth of the city of Elysium on Corellia (Starsider). We're talking before Launch, he's been around and offering great amounts of time and superb ideas. He's quite the political thinker, and I think he'd be very well-suited both technically and with the experience he's gained.

If you don't know him, get to know him (or her, if you're referring to his character Archonia).

As another long time collaborator of Haji's, I'll support him in this also.

I'm a bit concerned that this new demand on him time might impact our city, but after talking with him about it I think he can do pull off both gigs. He has some interesting ideas for the profession and you certainly can't question his committment. He's been our most consistent city leader for over a year.

I imagine that the final decision will be made by the Devs, but I ask that they consider Hajihill as a serious candidate.

Hate to be the bad news guy here but...

Is there a point?

1: Devs hardly ever respond to top 5 issues

2: Devs hardly ever implement top 5 issues in a short time if at all.

3: Devs have made it clear we will not be getting looked at for the next few publishes at least. In that we are joined with many professions that need help badly.

4: Any corespondant would have to show a photograph of him or herself so that we can see they have a big hard head that can stand the impact of contantly banging it against the wall without losing consiousness.

I say we are better off finding out who the guy is thats responsible for building our profession in the first place and make him/her and their team our correspondants. Then they can come here and tell us about all the stuff they had planned for us to do that got cut out as well as any city stuff that got cut out as well as what the future trully hold for us and when he/her/therm expect that future to materialize.

After debateing the issues with them for a week we should have all the answers we need to have in order to decide wether just dumping the profession is the best cause of action. By dumping I mean removing the skill point requierment. If they just did that it wouldnt matter if nothing ever changed because we can go about playing other professions while we wait.

Once all the changes come in they can reapply the skill point requierment.

PS: I run a a rank 5 city of 100 people and I wouldnt want the job if they paid me. Like I said above nothing gets done with them or without them. The devs can quite easily scan the forum once a week and see if there is a post that stands out with many replies. After all anything in our top 5 would have got flooded replies because it was/is a main issue.

NOTE: Whoever gets it BUILD A SENATE!

Get all the Master politicians together for chats and stuff with TH or whoever we can rope into it.

Despite the discouraging post.. I'd like to throw my support behind hajihill as well. I've been working/playing with Haji since before he became mayor, he's helped us througha particularly tight situation, many othervarious issuesand has been an all around good mayor, which hecontinues to be.. not to mention the website he maintains- itjust gets better and better.

p.s. the senate idea sounds good.
