Major thanks to Vandessa, Riis, and famousFATWOOKIE for the encouragement Your support means a lot to me, as you all are ex or current mayors of notable metropoles that have done and is doing a *great* job with your city.

Given the opportunity, I would be honored to serve this community and let our voices be heard. Bajeezusdida great job, and hopefully my voice is loud enough to speak for the politician community as he had.

from prelaunch's post:

Is there a point?

there is... I've been trying to raise awareness on bugs from professions I'm familiar with, and so far I've received *some* responses. Some of these things will take time to fix, and with a correspondent your chances of being heard increases. communication might be slow, but it does happen.

4: Any corespondant would have to show a photograph of him or herself so that we can see they have a big hard head that can stand the impact of contantly banging it against the wall without losing consiousness.

I have a dent on my skull from a chair that fell on my head... does that count?

I vote in support of haji, based on his knowledge and dedication to the game, and his passion for helping others. All of these things are what makes his city, Elysium, a successful community, and what would also make him ideal for this position.

Thanks toRyaul, Eea, Syfus and Demiglot, as well as to all the other potential candidates. This is a meaningful and difficult position, and I glad to see people stepping up to the task when it is needed.

But, Ryaul, Elysium is our city, not mine.

Also, I think the Senate idea in any of the forums it has comes through the forums is a brilliant one and do intend to push and nudge for that continually whether I am selected as correspondentor not.

Also, I would once again pose the question: How important do you feel some level of Technical knowledge is in the new correspondent?

How many of you politicians maintain your own websites, forums, and information about your cities? How many of you have used the excellent swg-planner tool ( http://swgplanner.tyger.org/?mapdata=ch.-3.-5.0, and think that more tools like that would be a serious assistance to active mayors?

I must reiterate how strongly I feel that the position of Politician Correspondent is unique from all other profession correspondents in that here is a profession that needs to make use of external tools to be very effective, and so here is a correspondent who needs to work not only to highlight and address in-game profession issues, but also needs to work to make out-of-game tools better, more readily available, and easier to use.

To answer your question:

A good game should NEVER require a player to leave the game to get what he or she needs to play.

The forums, mapping tools, citizen lists, etc. are all well and good, but are a failure of the system to provide the player with the tools they need.

A good player is denoted by passion, not technology.

I am not doubting your passion, and since your name is not offensive to me, and you don't seem to be one of Thunderheart's "friends," I wouldn't mind you being correspondent either. Please don't take my comment as a personal attack or some such, I was just answering your question.

Well I'm gonna vote for Pappi

I may be partial but she has been a strong peace-maker on test and a proven politician on TC.

I agree with you, under ideal circumstances this would be the case, but the politician profession is operating under far less than ideal circumstances currently, and we mayors need any help we can get. The better our out of game tools and the better they work together, the better we mayors will be able to do our jobs and that is the primary goal. This of course does not replace in game systems, but any integration that can be reached between in game systems and out of game tools would at least be a step in the right direction, and would be something that has never before been done in an MMO.

I'll throw my support behind Pappi. I've met her with my char on test and was impressed. The city of New Unity seems to be a strong location and only getting better and I'm sure that the mayor has at least a small reason for this ( )

Plus being on test center already it would make things easier to test as they get added. I doubt it would be simple to start a new metropolis on TC and one shouldn't strongarm your way into an existing city just to be able to try new things.

So far it is 5 vs 5 between Haji and Pappi.

This is actual votes from other posters and not the person proposing/accepting themselves being thrown in this race (incidently this is why it is just between these 2 since the others haven't gotten any "seconds" to give them a vote) if I'm missing any when I skimmed the thread feel free to point out my idiocy.

I fully support Hajihill as the new Politician Correspondent on the SOE forums. Hajihill has shown a great deal of interest and concern about the way the Player City system operates and he is committed to making improvements to make it better. His dedication to the City of Elysium on Corellia, Starsider Galaxy has proven that he has what it takes to see things through to the end. The amount of energy and enthusiasm Hajihill has put into Elysium as its current mayor (Archonia D'Syraculle) is exactly what the Politician Correspondent position demands and he is willing and able to do it.

I have a lot of respect for Hajihill and recommend him wholeheartedly.
