Any ideas how to balance that kind of budget? Without maxing out some taxes to the extreme. Hehe this is getting expensive.

Symbolic 500cr imcome - 10% property ...

The real chunk of money is comming from shuttle an 3% sale tax (don't worry about merchants not comming ... we had a merchant guild moving to kheraba after taxes where set up).

The idea of a tax free zone financed through "city hunts" is nice, although I wouldn't want to have it in my city. For one I'm lazy and rather pay that little amount of tax instead of "working" it off ... and secondly as Mayor I don't like the idea that only half the citizens are helping out with the city treasure (since about half are citizens have nearly no combat skills to really do a city hunt.

We are at the city Level with max trainers, shuttleport, gardens, statues and lamps. We only charge a 5% sales tax. But we ask everyone from the town to donate atleast 2K everytime they come in and use the mission terminal for hunts. This has worked our well for us and we have a positive cashflow into our treasury.

Almost exactly our situation and budget, except I use a 10% property tax and a 1% sales tax. (102 citizens)

This illustrates the tax system problems in game. We need more and better defined options. We also need a more detailed treasury report - including income by tax.

I would like to see the following:
Mission Terminal Tax
Cantina Entrance Fee option
Hospital Entrance Fee Option

FYI :
Our city is at 65 cits, cost is 350k/week. With our new research center spec - i charge Crafters (who sell in town) 20k/week. This helps to cover much of the cost.

I agree we need a more detailed treasury report telling us where all the money in the city comes from, but my city has 92 citizens and is maxed out in decorations and trainers, our weekly maintence is 555k. The property tax is 5%, income tax is 100cr, sales tax is 3% and shuttle is 100cr, we currently have a surplus of nearly 2 million credits. Most of our income is from sales tax.

My city has a 565k worth of maitenance. We haven't maxed out on decorations or trainers but very close, and we have the research specialization. We have a 2k income tax, 5% sales tax and a 100c tax on shuttle. We currently have over 2.5 million in the treasury and get most of our money from shuttle taxes (about 30k a day) and sales tax (about 20-50k a day). We do pretty well and donations are always nice.

I like to see a tax on clone center. I mean they tax shuttle, why wouldn't they tax clone center, it is just as important (well almost). I don't mind if they don't, just be nice.

My city is up over 600k maintenance, plus lots of PA and other city buildings that I make deductions to pay (that max deduction really needs to be raised). We have a 2000 credit income tax, 10% property tax, 100 credit shuttle fee, and 2% sales tax, and we have no problem keeping ahead of maintenance. I don't know how much of what we can take in is due to donations (I know one player donated 6 million credits) but we're over 14 million in the treasury and slowly climbing. I'm gonna try to do some experimenting to figure out how much we're getting from each tax and how much we take in each week and then do some tax cuts.

Well yes - City Hunts... we do a city hunt once a week, brings in 500-700k and with the 'Improved Job Market' the hunters get to keep 15%.

Also gardens and statues in front of peoples homes can 'spice-up' your treasury - for a one time or weekly dontation.

The City Crevasse is a tax-free area, 62 citizens, level 4 city, shuttle, bank, cantina, medical center, 12 trainers, gardens, lamps - you name it. Weekly budget: 400k.

50% property tax and 5% sales tax.

Our city is guild only and very PVP oriented. All excess city funds go into an emergency fund.

My city has 65 citizens and gains more than that weekly. With only 1K flat fee and 4% sales tax. Get merchants in the city.
