Thread: 425k a week
We have some great merchants in my town. 4% sales tax, 2k citizen, 0%property and 100cr shuttle. What really boost our economy was to stage raids out of our city.
Now, we didn't stage the raids for the purpose of making money, but every economist knows war boost the economy, so long as your country isn't decimated. We invited over 100rebels to help raid bases over 3-4days span, after that we have had rebels in town buying our goods and hunting from our town. Our city is also mention on the boards a lot so people want to visit. And don't forget to sell a vehicle to the person that just had theirs trashed
Its always great when someone says they need more stimpacks and we can easily direct them to the vendor.
about reports... see the new sticky thread at the top about top 5.
my city is at just under 400k a week.
i have 2 accounts. the other is heavy on combat and can make 400k in a solid afternoon of missions solo, just grouped with at-st.
but we are a crafter heavy city, so the 2% sales tax goes a long way towards the weekly maint.
at the end of the day its not a lot of credits..
Or resourcing.
Resourcers earn a lot of easy credits. I can make nearly a mil a week on fusionpower and that's selling cheap, you could raise the price and earn more.
Big startup cost, but definately worth it for the repeat income.
Our city maintence is about 350K a week, which I thought was really high but after hearing the 500k + Club, I'll quit complaining. We have 68 citizens and I have only beeen Mayor for 3 weeks (I'm not the original mayor). We have a shuttleport, cantina, cloning center, med center and lots of gardens. We currently have a 10% Property Tax, 4% Sales Tax, 250 credit Income tax and 100 credit shuttle tax. I'm also a Master Merchant so I placed Merchant Tents around the Shuttle Area and offer the use of them for free as long as the vendor pays the maintence (This has started to really help out our budget problems, I think we were 50k short last week).
I too would like to see other ways to create tax income for the city. Cantina, Med Center and Cloning to name a few but I would gladly give those three tax incomes up for a cut of the mission terminals.
City maintenance 600k.
City income - between 1.5mill and 2.5mill
5% 5%1000 and 100 creds shuttle fee.
Just about all that income comes from sales tax.
what benefit is there to the city if people use city terminals for hunts? i mean other than hunters buying goods in the city and paying sales tax?
does teh city get any cut from the terminals?

think outside the box.
eg, 10 people go hunting, doing missions. they each get 2 missions = 20 missions for an average of 8k per mission (grouped). this group of 10 go off and do all 20 missions over acouple hours. at the end of this everyone either /tip's the mayor or deposits directly into the city kitty which would = 160k credits.
this is how a city hunt would raise cash for the city and is what i believe the person that mentioned hunts meant.

I can honestly say the sales tax brings in the most cash (although we dont have the figures to prove it - damned SOE give us the tools we require
Having a number of well stocked vendors can make a massive difference - we have well over 5million credits per day going through our vendors.
We also ask PA members to donate the proceeds of one mission a week to the PA - as we're on dantooine, thats 5k per member roughly.
We dont have massive funds, but it does mean we have some reserves each week.
Panther Town, Talus, Tempest 3500,600 across the river from the Lost Village of Durbin.
We have only 44 citizens. We have no taxes (yet), We have had some generous donations. I very much appreciate the examples from the other mayors. Many thanks for sharing.
We have skill trainers that cost the city money. I would like to know if they are even being used and by how much. Why cant they generate income for the city.
We have mission terminals near public vendor tent. Good for business. Wish I knewhow much they were being used. Unused terminals could then be moved or replaced.
We have put street names on the street lights.
We were Cloning Center and it cost us 80k and no one got a discount on cloning! Big rip off, bug needs to be fixed.
Sending email to every citizen is a real pain. Worse when friends list gets thrashed and I lose all my group info.
Glad to be mayor, even with the bugs and the problems. It is fun bringing people together to do big projects. Balancing the budget qualifies as another big project.
