Ok before the flames seriously considar my question. Our city is pretty much where we want it and after I arrange some things and maybe a garden or two more. What is the actual purpose of me remaining master politician? everything will still work as it is. We have all of the city structures we can have.

What else is there but maintain citizenry, revenue and maint?...and I can do all that at novice.

I'm just wondering if I'm missing something or can I just put my skill points to better use by mastering merchant or something.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Running my city is awesome I am mastering Politician and keeping it as long as I am in office. Wich will prolly be till the end of time since I am so active with running our city, nobody is even thinking about who our next mayor will be.

Now when I started as Politician I was master commando and i sucked in pvp. Solution: drop all gun related professions and take up TKA/FENCER i can master all three TKA/FENCER/POLI

If you think that having ANY part of mayor is pointless pass your office to someone who is more dedicated so you can free up your skill points. This Profession should REQUIREholding master or something in order to hold office long term. In my opinion its 100% or nothing.

I prefer to think of it more as the "butt" of skill points. Or at least of my jokes.

dhcp: Lol. nice. I choose to "shoulder" the burden of my politician skills.

William: I used to think the way you do. It was a goal to master poli and I did. I also agree that being a good mayor is a nearly a full time task, however, do you really use any of your skills other than placing trainers and maybe a city specialization? I dropped most of my mayor skills in favor of something with real use. Save up enough XP to get something back in case a new exotic garden or something is needed, but really those skill points are better spent on something else in most cases.

I really wish the poli skills meant something and provided some use...I would get them all back right away if they did.

... but of course i like to be the "head" of the city can't help it, i was very good about not making a joke about the "waist" thing until someone else spoke up

i'm blindly holding onto master politician for no good reason O.o

I just earned the abilty to get Master Politician, but I can't see any reason to drop any other skills for an empty skill box.

personally i don't think poli should even be a skillpoints based profession.

But unless they make it so a master poli can run for mayor of like mos eisley.

Peace.
