wow, has it been a week already? time flies when you're busy...
well, nothing really went on in New Unity the past week due to the downtown, and won't until they roll back TC. the good thing is now that I don't have to worry about the treasury, I can relax. the bad part being that I'll probably be busy anyway, and TC would probably be in constant chaos until the wipe. I don't think I would log on as much since I no longer need to check on the city, and will either spend the on other servers, slacking, or actually... working
I really oughtta get back to work right now though, I'm have time freed up starting thrusday afternoon (after my last homework is turned in), and I'll be more active then
so how was your city this week?
edit: whoops, wrong date again. I need sleep

Mayor’s report, X-TaCity Lok Ahazi
Growth! The city reached 80 citizens this week as we battle all odds to attempt to regain metropolis status again.
The Imperial Square facelift!: Citizens cheered as the long awaited Imperial square was finally revealed to the masses. The placement of 2 small gardens a fountain and 3 statues off set by two blazing fie pits captured the home comers as some out of gamers returned to the city after 6 months of non swging. The face lift as you exit the shuttle really gave the city a new feel.
Unveiling of Regal hill! X-TaCity mayor Erann unveiled the secret project known only as regal hill this week. Sources at the city hall downplayed the event as wasting city funds. Mayor Elaske said there were 15 statues lying about I had to place them somewhere!! News wires sources suggest if you get the time to climb regal hill and look down it’s really pretty.
New large parks dropped. 2 new large parks were donated to the city by the resident doctor. One was placed by the donator’s house the other was used to reserve some land.
New road proposed. X-TaCity reserved some land this week in preparations of placing a new guild only entertainment zone. The new land will be used to stage missions and privatize the afk buff bots.
Mayor Elaske Announces Master Politician status next week! Agents at the clone center confirmed the mayor is now 3-4-4-4 Pol.
Sate of the city: The city still sits at tax free with about 4 mill sitting in the pot with continuous donations from the leet members.
What’s planned: the patch between the guild hall and city hall will be the parade of champions and has been flagged as a no build zone. This route will resemble Theeds’s palace route when finished detailing the guild leaders and militia members. The patch north of the city hall on the boarder of the city will be the new cantina center, and the merchants row has been set aside for around the shuttle.

Hi from Twilight's End, Naboo (Kettemoor)
I did an experiment with my citizens to get a feel as to how many are still active. I sent out a city email first stating that I was sending a 1 credit bank tip to every citizen & why I was doing it.
First off, I found out that only a handful DON'T read my occasional emails when they asked why they got a tip lol
Other good news is that out of the 100 listed citizens, I've had 71 accept their tips already...with the knowledge of about another 10 that are still active yet haven't logged on yet. Makes me feel much better knowing that whenever they do they major character wipe we won't be affected too much. Yes, there's the possibility of losing metropolis if it happened tomorrow, but the shuttle is very safe. Plus gives me the chance to work on actively recruiting another guild or just more new citizens.

Schizm, Tattoine Corbantis
City went through a MAJOR revamp! re-arranged all the public buildings except the Mall, cantina and city hall. And, If anyone wants to know what to do with large craters in their city, come to Schizm and take a look at my solution. One thing, it looks WAY better at night!

Landsend, Naboo on Starsider
Third week as an official town and we have become a village! YAY!
We have 21 citizens right now, will be building our first cantina soon, and I'm still learning about this whole business as mayor. If someone can recommend a good way to raise the treasury fund without making people pay taxes, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks.

Have city hunts on Dant for the large 30k missions, etc. Plenty of ways to get your citizens actively involved in the city funding without having taxes.

Well Aerie on Rori (Gorath) is finally settling down. Due to differences in personalities, our Master Architect left. We compensated him for his city buildings and asked that he go elsewhere. It could have been handled better but it wasn't.
The village's population continues to hover around 25. Hopefully that will increase a little now that I can be in the game.... friggin hurricanes.
If anyone has an architect that can make city items, we might be a customer. Give Dolman a tell in game (If your on gorath).

Not much happening in Aurora this week. I was away on RL business, where I managed make some cash for my company and....and...and...I met George Bush Sr! Woohoo!
So my "week in politics" has been very good indeed. Ill post something interesting for Aurora (flurry server) early next week.
Aurora is still working on a total city re-org all the while working to get a new PA settled into town, as people are away leveling jedi's or playing in Beta. Re-organizing a city is NOT fun.
Cheers!

not really related to SWG city politics, but here in alberta canada it's city election time... and I've selfishly done the hand shakes with the candidates and have been colecting pictures! now if we could only /duel them and convince them the city housing tax is bugged and convince them to convaert the City to donations.... ::

Hey again,
Helios is up to 157 citizens. The guild enclave being built is on hold, a previously active member owns a Generic World PA hall that needs to be moved but he’s not been in game for weeks.
Three abandoned buildings continue to block progress, the character purge would be a great benefit to us but from what I read I can’t expect it for some time. So sad!
Several buildings are on hold for transferring ownership. Two malls and our cantina are owned by players that have left the game. They were kind enough to give us their account information however. So once this bug is fixed we will pay the $45.00 or whatever and transfer the buildings. I have personally re-activated a dozen accounts since being mayor to move buildings in the past. I need to stress the need to have RL emails from your citizens; we collect them from the registration process on our forums. Anyway I consider SWG to be a cheap hobby but it does get annoying having to dump cash into it.
We had our first personality conflict with a local merchant. After nearly a year and hundred of merchants that have come and gone, one threw up a protest shop sign. The issue was over thatplayers need to talk RL politics in game, something we don’t want to see. Our local players are from a dozen countries and all races, creeds, sex, etc. It’s just not fun or safe to bring those topics up. Oh well, best I can tell he is an adult and I have faith we can work it out.
Upcoming events include a “Halloween” party. I am uncertain what the Star Wars equivalent is for the holiday, if we find out we will call it that. Then a JTL Launch party, where the poor Tailors and future Shipwrights will be working there butts off for our customers. Mix in a gaggle of entertainers and set to simmer.
Windspire Entertainment has a new video in the works. It will be another pre-JTL ground game video. Expect to see several in space ones as well. Always fun to watch!
Best of luck to everyone!

A lot been stirring around Gold Beach this week. The biggest news is a Mayoral change, although it's more of a toon change than an actually change of control. As of about 30 minutes ago I have succesfully Voted my Alternate Character into office, letting my main character to persue his future careers. I am amazed by the strenth and activity of my guild expeciallygetting 75% of my guild to votewithout having me resort to massive recruiting and other tactics I wouldn't be proud of.
well other than that earlier this weekI placed a flurry of street lamps and a other decorations making the place look more like a city. I'm hoping to also get the crafters orginized to get a good base of operations going. Other than that Waiting for JTL so that the Squadron part of our Guild name actually has some meaning.
Former and current Mayor of Gold Beach....out!

Haven Island - Corellia, Chimera
City Expansion
==============
This week we welcome Willow R Lint to our island now bringing our count to 86 citizens. With this we have now advanced to the next city level, Haven Island is now a Metropolis. Our city limits now cover the whole island and we also gain additional benefits in being able to place more skill trainers and a higher structure limit.
Haven Island Website
==============
As you may have noticed we had some major problems with the Haven Island Website this week. The problem was tracked down to several Mynocks that were found to be chewing on the power cables. Due to the amount of damage they caused we had to rebuild the website from a previous clone. As with all clones there was some decay and we have lost nearly a months worth of data from the site, this include posts and newly created accounts.
My apologies for the problems that this has caused and rest assured all the Mynocks have been suitably removed. Can I please ask you to take 5 minutes to check your details and if needed reregister?
The URL for the website is http://www.havenisland.co.uk
Haven Island 1 million Credit lottery
==============
It’s that time again, the next lottery will be taking place on Sunday at 20:00. All residents are on the city roster will be automatically entered. Good luck to you all.
Lot Donations
==============
Now that Haven Island has advanced to a metropolis the weekly cost has risen to nearly 700,000 credits. In order to keep Haven Island free forever I’d like to invite citizens to donate any spare lots that they may have so we can place a large harvester on it. The resources collected will then be sold on the city vendors, the proceeds going to fund the cost of the city.
If you would like to donate any spare Lots please email me in game and I’ll organise their placement on Sunday.
Skill Trainers
==============
With the restore of the website we lost the thread with the feedback on the skill trainers and requirements. I’ve recreated a new thread can you please take 5 minutes to voice your opinion on what trainers we should have ?
Monday Hunts
==============
I am organising another Hunt for Monday evening 20:00 UK Time. After the walk in the park to the Tusken Fort I though this week we’d up the game so we’ll be grabbing a shuttle to Dathomir to hunt Rancors and maybe the odd Nightsiter that gets in the way. See the Haven Island forums for more details.
