Ok, so there's this certain city that has been declining for ages. Today we decided with the mayor to withdraw most of the city's funding. We decided to take 70M credits out of the treasury and leave there only 23M. All those credits were originally placed there by me.
So we had all figured out and I flew several hops to the city and the mayor started pulling out the credits. This is when the sh!t hit the fan. The mayor can only pull 50k credits every day. SO.. to get out that 70M credits the mayor would need to draw 50k every day for the next 1400 days. If it wasn't so sad it would be almost funny. The city spends the money a lot faster than a mayor can pull it out. I mean why does the mayor even have the ability to take money out of the city if the limit is so laughable?
50k/93M. Great percentage.

Back then there was still HOPE. The hope is long gone now.
EDIT: The funding I gave to the city guaranteed that the city would survive for years. All the taxes were removed so in theory it would have been a great place for living and for commerce. Out of the ~120 residents of the city there are probably less than 20% around anymore.

hmm... then why not try to get more citizens into the town? merchants would probably be happy to put vendors into a town with no sales tax, and no property/income tax should be a good selling point too. starting october (or as the devs told everyone), every month the houses of folks that have been gone for 6 months or more will be removed, and you can introduce new houses into the city.
I've repeated what the devs said (at fanfest) about treasury withdrawl a few times... they realize that the amount is low, but they didn't tell us they'll change it. it's always folks who abuse their privileges that get them taken away from us, but as I always say... stupid people happen

Well, the city has around 230+ buildings and doesn't really have room for additional people. When the purge begins it may clear away most of the city though...

yeah, since you have quite some time to take the money out, might as well wait and see if the buildings go away at october.
good luck on everything

haha aye, that 50k thing is really silly. I mean for a start what would we ever need 50k a week for? our wages? hehe.
Also, when did this get implimented btw? im sure i could withdrawb4 without a limit and without the entire voters roll being informed that i've had 50k out the treasuary.
Was funny how we discovered the withdraw limit. We decide that it's time to upgrade our forward outpost to atlest 1 DHQ so we set about getting the cash 2gether for the endeavour. We sologroup up and hit dant for a couple of nights to make a good few mil. Then we deposit the lot in our cityhall for safekeeping while i get a hold of another master smug to buy our base. So i go to withdraw the cheese to get our bases only to find that i can only take 50k out!!! so back to dant we go lol. atleast the cityrent is paid for a good while tho hehe.

I believe the 50k limit has been in since the start of player cities started back in November of last year. I don't remember a time when it wasn't limited.
I also believe it has been listed in either the forums or the holocron since that time, since it's been common knowledge.

But can't a disgruntled mayor just pull the city hall before he is voted out anyway?

He can do that.
But....lots of people would hate him and the structure is destoryed, losing all the maintenance. I would also bet that the CSR team would consider smacking a disgruntled city-hall puller.

CSR's will not intervene if a Mayor destroys a city hall unless the Mayor has used the destruction to con players.
If a Mayor said "pay me 30mil credits or I'll destroy the city", people pay 30mil & he destroys the city, the CSR's *may* intervene, otherwise it's nothing against the rules.

still dont understand while player cities even exist. We already have cities, why not give players office in those and allow for expanses? I know Cnet is big in terms of the game, but it's no where to scale of a real life city. It would take too much coding and stuff, though, so they wont do it.. but it would'a made things a lot more interesting and given the playerbase a much bigger impact on the game world.
