Fully agree!!!!

We really need a tool to manage houses!!

What I suggest is to allow mayor to sent a warning to specific citizen :

"The mayor would like to verify you are still alive. Return in your house localized at xxx, yyy, zzz and use the terminal to cancel the procedure before 14 days. After this period, your house will be packed automatically, and it will return in your datapad. You will not be a citizen of the city anymore".

The solution is simpleand this will help all the mayor in the game!!!

As a new mayor coming in to an old city, I am left with tons of houses from cancelled players. I agree with your idea, but I'd like to offer a suggestion that maybe the devs could use to avoid the possibility of griefing. Instead of leaving it in the mayor's hands on an individual basis, maybe they could add something like a "Packup Condemned / Inactive Structures" option to the City Management radial menu. It could even be expanded to generate an email to citizens with subject structures, wait the specified 14 days and then pack the structures city-wide. Seems to me this would eliminate griefing.

wow, alot of different view points on this subject.

some things to keep in mind.

- No one with a ghost city is going to decide to remove any houses/citizens and lose their civic structures.

This is like shooting yourself in the foot. No one is going to run the risk of "cleaning" upa city with the risk of losing city perks. So what if 75% of the city is emtpy? I still have my house and a shuttleport.

- 15 days noticeis a joke, 1 month is a joke, the only reasonable timeframe is 3 months, anything OVER that is ridiculous, and UNDER is unfair.

I don't remember what kid thought it would be a "good" idea for 15 days, but some of us with real jobs go on vacation for more than 15 days. Others leave the game for a month or two for a break. 6 months to a year is WAY too long to have a cycle time.

- Mayors shouldn't be able to pick individual structures or homes, all or none.

Iwant to put a garden down where your house is, your house doesn't match with the others, or whatever.... This isn't martha stewart living, your not playing with lego's, this is someones home. It is their property, tho just code, it IS their home. This tool should be used to clean the city as a whole, not redecorate/organize it.

- Mayors griefing? >_< You guys voted us into office. You guys decided to live in our city. Remember that.

If you don't like it... get out. Just remember that at any time all the mayor has to do is /destroystructure and bye bye, the entire city is gone in a mere .02 seconds.

All I know is there are way too many novice architecht's/politician's giving out free housing and a whopping 10k to any random person. If you have to stay logged in AFK to get ppl to live in your city, you don't deserve one. These OMEGA CITIES OF DOOM are everywhere, this also putsguild cities at a disadvantage, they are punished for being "Selective", (its true, just think about it.) These OMEGA cities are of course the biggest and largest ghost cities, new accounts that are quickly cancelled, people from other servers, the list can go on and on.

We need a server wide wipe, The game has been up 2 years, just packup the house, nothing gets destroyed, nothing lost. and then afterwards, maybe after the initial wipe you can start doing "automatic" checks. Regardless if the idea gets implemented or not, I strongly urge the acceptance of a SINGLE wipe at the very least.

At the very least wipe the harvestors, I'm tired of seeing 9/10 harvestors on fire ingame. its quite sad.

There are no taxes that are working right now that will take any money from a player's account unless they are online. Property Tax comes directly from the structure when it pays maintenance; since maintenance is turned off Player Cities were getting no income which is why it was turned off for cities as well. Income Tax is only taken out of an account if that player logs in; if a player has not logged in for 3 weeks, they will only have Income Tax taken out for the week they do log in.

bummer.

well, thanks for the info.

I've often suggested that mayors have this ability, but I'd like to add that I hope our Corr takes whatever we can get.

A recent suggestion I heard is ear-marking a house. Literally, we have houses in the town that have been there a YEAR without the owner logging on. Over 15, we know, are cancelled/lapsed accounts. Could we not get a mayor the ability to file a lapsed account ticket, wherein the account has been cancelled/lapsed for 6 months the structure either gets packed up or moved to a general lapsed account area on the planet in questions (in the case of houses/harvestors/factories/tents that cannot be packed)?

This is strangling our ability to manage a Tier 5 and Tier 4 city next to each other. The wave of people that left during the CURB and haven't returned have left tracks of abandoned housing blocking current active players from participating in the player cities.

I completely understand the load on the devs, but getting people into the community and developing that sense of ownership is a large part of getting them to play the game regularly. More play = equal more paid accounts.
