I tossed this idea on the table in the concerning slums string, but just in case Khristen has't read it...


I propose the developers enable an automatic house packup after a set amount of time, BUT let mayors grant houses in their cities an extension so a replacement resident can be found.


This idea will satisfy both camps on the issue of playerwipe to control overcrowding and ghost towns. The nuber of inactive homes will be reduced and mayors will not lose city benefits or even thier city hall due to a sudden wipe.

1. Special skills to smooth out rough terrain to place structures


2. No building zone outside town, maybe 100m to 200m to enable future expansion for the town


3.Increase city structure limits or make streetlamps not count towards city structure limits

One suggestion to number 4. I know our city mayor on Naboo pretty good and his biggest complaint are inactive player houses and structures. One suggestion I would have on this is now that the devs have put in player house pickup why can't the devs make it so that those that have cancelled there account or havent logged into the server for x amount of days just automatically packup the house? The house hasnt poofed and is still accessible if the player comes back?

Any ideas?

6.(sorry but there is one more important thing) Being able to create a city council stands high on my list as well b/c the role of mayor can be quite overwhelming, its hard to have a treasurer that cant really do anything but ask for money....






yay! some onethinks the same!!!(i really like this idea)i would kinda like to be able to have a deputy mayor that could do ever thing the mayor could but take down the city hall!

Its not thought out to extremes, but just a vauge idea. I see a couple of drawbacks , one being that it would be time consuming, but any thoughts would gladly be discussed.

oddly enough with 4 toon's covering professions from Politician,Combat Medic, Creature Handler, Shipwright, Artisan, pilot, droid eng,architect, bio engineer,merchant, TKM, jedi and formerly bounty hunter, swordsman,pistoleer, carbineer, commando and prolly a few others I cant think of , I have felt like the red headed step child of SOE not just SWG... there are a lot of professions with alot of issues. I just dont think 3 guys in a basement with a 2 liter of jolt soda per night can fix everything in any sort of a timely manner.

Since I just posted a thread about it, I'd like to see the removal of growth caps for player cities (no # of cities, or shuttleports). It just doesn't make any sense that a semi new city cannot grow to a township, city, or metropolis, even if it has the active citizens to support such growth.

unfortunatly there is.. Have you seen the number of huge but empty towns ? Imagine if everyone just decided to open a town... then got some lot trades to get a shutel.. then just lost intrest?

haven't read all of the thread. so sorry if i talk about something that had been talked about more then enough.

makeing the city factional, i don't see a problem in it, because the founder should have the ability to make his city a dictatorship and all citiezens should be aware of that or if the city is democratic the faction can hold election campains, but still the founder should have the last word in that matter.

the pavement stuff would be real cool, but i guess we will never see it as the devs have stated that the engine don't work that way. but let's hope they find a way to make it happen.

now an idea from me, i hope no one had the idea befor. VETERAN CITY REWARDS
like i posted in the player reward thread, cities should get benefits for being at the same place for a long time.
6 month a cantina adding. bartenders who realy serve drinks like in the static cantinas, bands for backround music.
12 month a hugh city capitol with programmable npcs, like simple answers to the convers command, nothing like giving missions and such.
18 month a police force
24 month a spaceport for the citiezens accessable only via space like the rebel base on dantooine. the city must fullfill the restrictions for a shuttleport for the whole 2 years

/citywarn will never come back. Anything that forces PvP on someone can much too easily be used to grief other players. That's not to say that we can't get more bite to /cityban, though.

That already happens on every server. House packup/planet purge will solve that.


He did not refer to the cap on thenumber of cities.


He did say that the SIZE of a city should not be restricted, if it can grow.


He says it hurts no one to let a level 2 city to grow to level 3.


And he's right.


SOE needs to examine its drawbridge mentality.


It is unfair to make people wait 1-2 years for level 3.
