Regardless of that, it is a private company, period. They can set any rule they choose.
Beg to differ with you but SOE is not a private company. It is a subsidiary of SONY, a fortune 500 publicly held company.

What this means is that SOE has a formal anti-Christian stance by:

Believe it or not, there are some christians that find the misuse of the name to be more offensive then simply disallowing the use completely. 2) Hiring volunteer correspondents with anti-Christian names.
Correspondents are NOT 'hired' as actual employees. They are Volunteers, from the community, that fulfill the role and responsibility of the position. They are the representatives of their particular field to the Developers of this game, forwarding the agenda of the community with one solid voice in the confines of the Correspondent boardinstead of the disparate cacophony we have here on the open ones.
Bejeezus has only one common interpretation, as evidenced by other posters in this thread.

ok, so buy 51% of all outstanding Sony stock and fire the guy that hired Bajeezus. While you're at it, mail me a 90" Plasma and a new stereo.
Couple items. I used to supervise volunteers. All volunteers in a corporation are still "hired" in the legal sense of the term. Volunteers have all the responsibilities toward corporate responsibility that a paid employee has. All volunteers are subject to legal action if they violate laws regarding corporate ethics.
Ok, let's pretend instead that his name was Fuxx0r. Would we be having the same conversation? Sony's policy is that Jesus is a profane name, much like the so-called "f-word."
I find their lack of consistency in this matter offensive.
I am giving Thunderheart and Q-3PO one more day to respond to this, before I escalate the matter.

So that makes like four correspondents who got their positions becuase of how friendly they were with TH. It is unfair. Maybe he can do a good job,I won't judge that until he does, but I don't think he should have even been given the position until he showed some passion on the profession. The reason I say this is because for EACH correspondent position (by the way, they seem to be all the newer ones) that TH picked a friend, I can think of a few people who showed much more passion and dedication to the topic and would have liked the position and done well. I am not saying Baj or anyone else doesn't do a good job, I am saying they don't deserve the position compared to other people who worked hard to help the community.
Heck, the correspondent positions in the GCW, Player Associations, and Star Wars all popped out of nowhere! No one had a chance to apply, even thought there were people very passionate about those postions. TH just picked people he knew, people who weren't even active community members beforehand, let alone active in their topic. That is unfair.

Well, a simple look at dev tracker and seeing them on my dashboard proves this not true, but I will allow this issue to sit for a couple days before I escalate it.
The fact that this thread has been unstickied is telling, of course.

Escalate it all you'd like, you're simply one person with one interpretation of another posters name. Why is it you feel that YOUR interpretation is the only true one? Do you not see that, perhaps, you really are reading way too much into a name? Or is there some other motive for your obvious stubborness on this non-issue?
And, quite frankly, if this causes any delay or hinderance to the changes needed by this profession...you're going to have a lot of angry mayors after ya.

As for religious fanatics I find them offensive. Should we ban them becuase they want to turn everyone into dogamtic sheep that only follow there belief structure.
I say offend everyone equally that way it cant be called discrimination.

And people are jumping in who never read my postings. I have stated this is not a religious issue with ME.

I ran this name by everyone online I knew. I simply asked....does this name have anything to do with the name "Jesus" in anyway?

I have no other motive. I oppose the correspondency program, and have only seen my profession's correspondents choose their own pet issues and not those of the main group.
They have no authority over us, but apparently, they are the ONLY ONES allowed to communicate with the devs for us.
This is not a non-issue, but one of civil rights. The attitudes presented in this thread are identical to those presented in the 1960's by folks who opposed the various Civil Rights causes. SOE has chosen to elevate a parody name of the ONLY religious figure deemed "profanity" by this company. This is poor corporate responsibility, and it needs to be solved by either dropping the name "Jesus" and "Christ" from the profanity filter, or requiring Sony employees and associates (VOLUNTEERS) to conform to their policy of not posting profanity on the forums.
If I cause any delay or hinderance, then that proves my point about the correspondency program, above.
I don't want the job. I don't oppose this person "FuXXor" or "Bejeezus" on any grounds other than his name is profanity and against the forum rules that state no "profanity" is allowed.
THEY defined the word as profane. I'M just calling them on it.

Who care if it has some connection to jesus. If its not a religious objection then your just being a pain for no other reason then you want to be.
The name has to do with the old saying " I'm going to beat the bejeezus out of you"

You have proven my point. I shall quote this when people claim there is no connection.
Sony says that is profanity. Therefore, it is inappropriate for the forums.
