For an old problem, from the past that seems like the best solution.
For the record, the Incumbant in this election moved on to another group of friends, earned their trust, then took over as mayor and kicked the founder of the guild out!!!!!
They have a few structures left in our bustling metropolis - a Tent right beside the shuttleport and a few houses which they promise to grief us with - ah well. We feel flattered that some people lay awake at night dreaming of new ways to grief us.
I hold faith in this board that one day , mayors will have the power to deal with miscreants like this.

I vote for bringing /citywarn back, but only for mayors.
I also vote for mayor status to switch as soon as the winning vote is cast, not waiting until the city cycle.
I do have to congratulate you, though on staging a successful coup. I haven't been able to oust the current mayor of our city, and he's publicly stated he doesn't want the job anymore. All the inactives, dual-citizens, and cancelled account characters continue to vote for him. He has promised not to maintain the city anymore.

Because the mayor, of course, has no chance of getting a few extra votes to stay in office. True there are no actual political races at the moment, but putting in that change will screw us when politiking becomes possible.

um, I don't know why you guys still think it's a vote, but we've been told repeatedly that citywarn is NOT coming back. I'm all for finding a viable alternative, but please keep that in mind.

That is griefing so report it. What I would do personally though? Kill him everytime I see him and have pets harass and grief him (follow with rude names) on top of doing what I can to find out anything about him so I can spam and grief him in real life.
He will run out of credits quickly (I'll PM you the flaw) so you will be able to depose of him, and honestly do what he would do. As soon as he destroys city hall drop a harvestor so he can't do squat. When you do get your city hall down drop a brazier in it and move a vendor that looks like (and is named as) the current incumbent into the middle of it for all to see and enjoy.
He won't even have to place his new city hall in the exact same spot. Even if he places it near the edge of town, the distance restrictions will keep any other town hall from being placed within a certain radius (1000mI think).

ok i know the thread has been bumped since a long time, but maybe an idea, to an "alternative" /citywarn command. I Know citywarn as it was cannot come back, as it can too much be used for griefplaying. However, what about implementing a /citywarn (maybe only for mayors), that just can make militia overt for 10 minutes with a delay of maybe 2 or 3 minutes, and a system message to all players inside the city (not regarding if citizens or not). That would really help us to defendcities against overt attackers without the meaning of having a base in city to be able to get overt but militia would be able to defend their city against attackers. Thats something that would really help not getting griefed in a city when the next recruiter is maybe half an hour away
