I don't think the player city cap will have much to do with the lag on a particular planet. For instance, in the areas surrounding Theed and Coronet, there are plenty of houses, factories, etc that people have placed even without a city existing there. Bottom line is that people will live on the planet they want to, city or not and perhaps cause more congestion and lag by placing their structures closer to coronet or theed because there is no nearby player city instead of placing in a PC perhaps 1.5 - 2 km away.

before we get any aesthetic changes to our player cities we really need to try to get some fundamental structural enhancements imo...

I'd like our question to be something to the effect of:

Other than bringing back '/citywarn' what can be done to empower mayors, militia and/or dedicated citizens to enforce city laws?

got your work cut out for ya Texxie, see if this looks good:

The "city cap" prevents cities from advancement if the planet has reached its capacity for the next rank. Many politicians that have well qualified cities for advancement are frustrated since they cannot advance without another city losing its rank. How does the game determine which city gets advanced if another city drops a rank, and will there be plans to raise this cap?

Yeah, I'm wide and clear from the great plains myself... but there's nothing too terribly wrong with them... I have several great friends that live out there... not that I've ever considered it, but hey...

Also Pappi, A fair number of the voters mentioned the desire fora higher number of totalcities on some of the planets as well... so I would probably suggest including this in the question by changing it something like this:

The "city cap" limits the total number of cities on a planet, and prevents cities from advancement if the planet has reached its capacity for the next rank. Many politicians that have well qualified cities for advancement are frustrated since they cannot advance without another city losing its rank. How does the game determine which city gets advanced if another city drops a rank, and will there be plans to raise these caps?

Thanks for noticing Haji, I am all for raising the planetary caps for level 1 cities as well and then having every level 1 city to have the potential to grow unfettered to the highest level.

Thanks,

So the latest Count (assuming that everyone gets one vote... as there is only one question that may be decided upon by the whole group)

  1. Benefits at master politician - "Industrial Society" and "Scientific Society", where did they go?
    -4votes (vortexala, Plzurpilot, Steelheart, Pappi)
  2. Mayor resignation - more efficient way to transition between mayors - 2votes (Chibi-Bar, Paubocca)

  3. City ledger - documentary of income/expense - 1vote (revisoHT)

  4. Alternative /citywarn - put the militia back to work! -2 votes (Khristen, LeBob)

  5. List of /citybanned people, maybe in the city hall, only accessible by militia members

  6. Ability to control "dead" structures in the city - when people quit and leave their stuff around, empty vendors, etc.

  7. Verification on how some of the city specializations work - 1 vote (hajihill)

  8. City improvement options - change lanscape, paved roads, etc. - 1 vote (Vandessa)

  9. Communication options - city chat room

  10. Raisingcity cap, and removing city growth limits-6 votes (dhcpSilicon, DoctorGriggs, DashLightspeed, MTolwyn, Refah, Cettina)

  11. When will Factional NPC be placable to patrol cities? - 1 vote (Star_Ranger)

  12. When is the next Politician Publish? -1 votes (Psychotic Chipmunk)

  13. For the Space Expansion, at what city rank, if any, will player be allowed to depart in thier personal ships from player cities? - 1 vote (StumanKadir)

  14. When will the 'city inactivity' feature be reinstated.- 1 vote (Prelaunch)

This would tend to indicate that "Raisingcity cap, and removing city growth limits" is the burning question on the minds of the Politician community.

Please anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong (or you feel that one vote per person is unreasonable), and thanks for your help Texxie.
