I'm sorry but isn't cheating and politics about the same thing. There are news stories all the time about dead people voting, illegal aliens voting, how about hanging chads. Politics is dirty. I don't agree with the server swapping ghost cities but come on, to call someone a cheat in a profession that is full of cheats is crazy. You just have to find a way to beat them.

BlindTyldak, I don't really have anything to disagree with ya from what you have written. I pretty much agree with what your post. I guess what I was annoyed with is certain mayors cheating(by blocking votes) to remain in power or using ghost citizens to prevent other players from moving in(that really pisses me off, that crap has got to stop). But I see what you are saying in terms of the future of player cities in relation to vehicles.

"We removed this the same day it was first announced as an exploit, over a week ago.

Grow up."

Cheating is cheating is cheating. Period. YOU are the one that needs to GROW UP if your "mayor" was actually such a sleazebag as to pull this exploit. His character should be deleted right this second & so should that of anyone who helped or supported him. Don't want competition? Want to have "your" organization? Have a PA, because a city will NEVER EVER be that. You're the same as a credit duper. You're cheating deliberately- on purpose, willfully, at a game. There was never an ounce of vagueness here or any legitimate debate. It's just sheer, known, scumbag cheating done by mental midgets. GROW UP.

The changes didn't really bother me as we were given the shaft 30 minutes after patch. We relocated to Lok with no regrets. What a really cool planet. Anyhow

I have chose to not use my limited xp I have to be able to register the city. Our city needed a cloning center much more than we needed to be seen on the map. But in thinking about registration. How about a scaleable registering where each level of City allows for a higher up view. Think about a digital atlases. You don't see Roda's roadside cafe with a name and a gas station when viewing the continental US. You see New York, LA, and a few others. The solution looks like this, from the highest level on the map, the only cities visible are the NPC, as those should be considered the largest of the large.Move down 1/5 of the way on the scale bar and Tier V cities become visible. 2/5 and Tier IV cities become visible. etc. This would really limit map clutter (Tat is pretty cluttered on Eclipse) and allow all those that want a little recognition for their little corner of the galaxy to get it. This may seem like a pain, but consider when using an atlas to navigate, you don't put it at the highest level. Once cities are discovered, they can be waypointed.

re: Caps - my problem personally is that I am in favor of there being a limit on the number of cities, but completely against the footrace method of instituting it. Even the gradual raising of the limit is a footrace. I'd have been happier with a lottery than this method. But that's neither here nor there.

I think the shuttleport thing is a problem too. On the one hand, it sucks to have built in remote location and not be able to have a shuttleport until you are a big city. It's hard to be a big city when people don't want to run/ride all the way out there. ON the other hand, I'd rather not have 40 thousand shuttleport options on the ticket list to sort through. If only there were a way to make it so you could get a citizen-only shuttleport at the lower stages, and the real shuttleport later. But I have no doubt that that is not possible. Bleh

Stay on target...
Stay on target...

Can we come back to the no more slash commands in civic structures please. One negative thing you can do with the slash commands /setprivacy forces us to lose /setperm admin username /structurestatus /pay /setname and several others that I have used. Obviously the /setperm admin username is the most critical since they still aren't going to put that on the radial menu. Why can't they just disable /setprivacy and /setperm ban username?

I can't believe my timing!

I just become Mayor of Tus'kens Bane on Test Center, succeeding Caleb, whose help I still need. We walk into the newly re-placed City Hall (since all Player Cities on Tatooine were destroyed by a database error the previous week, welcome to TC) and I type what folks have been telling me will work, /setperm admin Caleb - and nothing happens! All become some genius on Live was misusing a command

They should put back the useful slash commands, *OR* beef up the Structure Management Terminal (as opposed to City Management) with corresponding functionality. I should absolutely be able to delegate things like outfitting rooms.

Take my advice, every single mayor out there who can't appoint assistants should /bug it and complain in new threads on the Forums. Don't wait for them to figure it out for themselves, make it the squeaky wheel.

Ah, I see, those of us who actually play the live game are the problem and ruining it for TC people?

I think people missed the lower caps on some of the planets. Dantooine, which can have 25 cities under the initial cap, will only see 20 able to reach rank 4. I wonder how many of the initial towns will feel this pinch?

Note: I'm not here to whine. This doesn't affect me at all.Fairfolk was one of the first town halls dropped on Tempest's Dantooine, is well on it's way tobecoming a city, andTempest doesn'teven have 20 player towns on Dantooine to hit the cap this week.

Absolutely not. Live mayors will suffer from this every bit as much as we on TC, and there are a lot more of them. I just didn't want to get too specific in my reference to the catalyst for this nerf

The /setperm admin command should be restored. It is useful and not subject to exploit.
