I would like to add that I would personally like to see NPC's walking around the town. If you are able to faction, then there should be overt members of your faction walking around... ie.. ST's for IMP or Commando's for REBs. There could be coverts too. IE.. if your an overt IMP/REB and you go to a player city and buy something you would get a discount if your of the same faction or a penalty for opposing faction (this ammount would be set between a specified range by the Mayor).

Also, I would like to be able to place NPC's such as informants (for BH's). What good is having a BH mission terminal if you have to go to a player city just to get info on the mark?

Rufkin-

It seems to me again that if you DON'T trust someone, why are you making them militia? That seems to be a simple enough answer. I am not a huge power gamer and don't spend a billion hours online. It's much easier for me to be able to have my militia members get people settled in the city. I'll say it again, get yourself some good militia people that you can trust.

Also, if you CAN'T remove militia (which I was unaware of), then maybe we should try and direct the developers' attention tothat problem, and not push for eliminating zoning rights capabilities.

This is a serious problem for politicians and player cities, and there is no need to wait for another pass at the top-five for me to raise this with the developers, which I will do today.

I like all of the suggestions. I think reimplementing the /citywarn command is extremely important. There is a big problem with spies (people using secondary accounts to join the opposite faction and spy. If a spy is discovered, just like in real life, they should be shot). I do agree that they should have at least 60seconds to leave though. You can get out of any city in 60 secs, as the max radius is only 450m.

I did not realize that you couldn't remove militia members. People should use judgement when delegating militia members, but should a worm make it into the militia, there should definitely be a way to remove them. (Please realize that there are people who have no scruples about banning EVERYONE, and think its funny. {Can you say GRIEFER?}) It is completely rediculous thatpoliticians have no abilities other than placing structures. The way things work now, someone basicly has to invest $15 a month to have a city at all, and once the city has been established, the Politician is completely useless. All of the suggestions are completely logical, especially the ones regarding city affiliations. SWG said, before initiating Player Cities, that cities were intended to allow factions to claim parts of the galaxy. Our city is an Imperial ONLY city, but there is no Imperial presence there other than the troops that are patrolling around the faction bases and the Player Characters. There SHOULD be squads of Storm Troopers/Rebel Trooperspatrolling cities (especially if the city is aligned with a faction). PLEASE ADD SOME CONTENT TO THE POLITICIAN PROFESSION!!!

Thank You,

"What is that silly thing of "faction cities"? All the cities are imperial ones, or the planetary authorities wouldnt allow their founding. This is a STAR WARS game, not SIM CITY. I think the point about faction cities is a really bad idea, and that will be bypassed by the developers.

If a city declares its faction being "rebel", i would expect a squadron of TIE Bombers coming down from the sky and leaving behind ruins (orbital bombardment, all imperials generals like doing that). That's the Imperial Way."

This must be a cut and paste response as I've seen this exact set of comments in another thread.

Rebel Cities exist right now this moment. There are cities out there with embedded Rebel Bases and other Factional Assets. The purpose of the request is to give Mayors, both Imperial and Rebel, the ability to govern their city in such a way that they are best able to serve the interests of their population and if the city is built around Faction then this translates as the ability to have a meaningful contribution to bolstering the city defenses.

Now here's the newsflash. If a Rebel city pops up then gather your army and attack it. You can't command TIE Bombers yet but nothing is stopping you from launching an offensive against the Rebel City. Rather than negating the ability of the Warmaster Politician from being able to live up to that name by suggesting that SOE fight the Players Battles for them accept the challenge of having better defended enemy cities and the benefit of being able to reinfoce the defenses of your own.

"The other thing I would like to make abundantly clear to EVERY politician is that the option to remove militia DOES NOT WORK. I put in a ticket, and the response the CSRs gave me is, "You can not remove militia members.""

/grantzoning rights shouldn't be in the hands of every militia member and the Mayor should be able to remove anyone from the Militia at any time. The former is annoying but can be dealt with but the latter is devestating. It is very easy to pretend to be a loyal citizen wanting only the best for the city then to suddenly become an unstoppable griefer after being entrusted as a member of the Militia.

Hi! Haven't been around for a while. Just wanted to tell you that I think you did a great job putting all of our thoughts in a concise list and getting consensus on the issues. The latter is usually a very difficult thing to do. Very nice job.

One thing I'd like to see and I'm sure it has been mentioned, since we can tax item sales, we should be able to discount as well. Especially a discount for citizens!!

Like subsidies? That would be an interesting idea; might work better with property taxes. Set tax rate to -5% and the city will pay 5% of your building maintenance fee. I like it!
