Thread: Serious Question about Players Griefing Cities.
How about this..
Why not be a proactive mayor and ban everyone with a BH tag over their head.
Go sit in theed and take down names, perma ban every BH you see.
I have been banned in cities I have never even hunted at, and yes I have asked for an explanation and recieved none.
Again who is the griefer here?
I have been banned from towns the Jedi i was tracking don't even live in.
The only justification for banning is harassment.
Also take into account that a bounty hunter has no idea who is is going after now, so he is unable to avoid any given person or town.
*oh and I'm not a BH anymore, Im a full template Jedi and taking over mayoral duties for our town.

While I don't have an EULA at hand I don't think camping is a violation of it. At least not if you don't camp a static spawn to kill it or something.
It was perfectly alright for a BH to camp a city if he likes to - as long as he doesn't harress anyone. IMHO it might be a waste of time though. Unless he suspects he Jedi will log in soon again.

I agree with this point...and was probably misunderstood when i said those BH's should be stopped from playing the game....unsportsman-like conduct.....of any profession and any faction....should be dealt with swiftly and properly...

i have not met any BH's (like the one in original posting) yet...and prey i don't ever....the BH's i know are respectable players...so don't think i'm siding with the whiny jedis...i'm siding with justice for the game ...and this poor mayor who had to put up with the disrepectful players who did the crimes in question...
as for jedis...well...they have grinded...they got there...but most have forgotten what a jedi truely is and should be...most Jedis behave worse than the sith i've met.......and i'm a rebel...yet their arrogance...

This is after all a roleplaying game. The BH is breaking no rules by waiting for an opportunity to 'do his job' and kill the Jedi. He's not camping, he's waiting. If everyone leaves the BH alone, he will leave everyone else alone, it's the Jedi he's after, and being city banned as a BH for simply trying to play the game is very annoying so it's no wonder temperatures rise.
It still amazes me that people think a BH hunting his prey is considered a grief, but a mayor or militia member who bans the BH for doing nothing other than his job is not.

They harassed our Mayor and everyone that came in to shop. No one said a word to the BH...but hey, you aren't going to believe anyone else anyway. We had 6 people there reporting. When The BH's get to Egotistical, it's time to have the devs give mayors and citizens an alternitive way to deal with them.
Actually, I am a full templated Jedi. I 'was' a bounty hunter, and I 'was' banned from a lot of cities. I am also one of the leading members of the FarStar Roleplay community. Being banned from 20+ cities for simply doing what your profession is supposed to do is no fun, especially since I was never abusive or in any way a griefer. Most of the time I entered the city, was sussed out as a BH and got the CB message.. Poor show!
My alt, for the record is also the Mayor of a RP town on Tatooineand I wouldnt dream of CB'ing a BH for hunting a Jedi in my city. If he's abusive etc, then that's a different matter all together, but I dont ban smugglers for slicing, ID's for ID'ing, Tailors for Tailoring, or Bounty Hunters for hunting! If you want to RP, do it in a different way. Jedi after all are the true enemy of the EMpire, not the BH.

Well, Just to clear things up from what my Citizen posted... The BH's that have been on our server apparently believe that they have more rights over any other player. As for the ones that actually harassed us, we actually have a Senior Supervisior doing a very big Investigation, not only apparently on the CSR's that wouldn't do anything, but also about this whole harassment thing from all the BH's that were involved.
I don't put up with the crap from other players, that, just because they are behind the screen, they think it's their right to abuse, harass, and grief other Human Beings. NO One should have to pay $14.99 up to over $100.00 a month to play a game that is supposed to be fun, and Relaxing. These people broke the EULA, and the Terms and rules and policies of SOE. They should have their accounts deleted and not allowed to come back.
It just gets to me when I see someone get away with doing this stuff, and here is the answer I get from over 99.9888% of the players when I tell them to go and read the EULA...

My Response was, "Ok, Log out, and thango and Log back inBut before you hit the play button, there is a Contract that you agree to every time you sign in...it's called the EULA. Imagine that." Than I direct them all to the Forums and where to go for the Rules and Policies and the Terms that we all agree to. However, most of them are either can't read, or they just think they are above everyone else and don't Have to follow the rules.

I just wanted to give everyone the heads up, and tell you all....ANY of you, IF you are ever harassed, griefed, or abused to do the /report and take the screenshots with the /earth that gives an Earth time.
And for those that think Banning a BH from their city is harassment, you need to wake up. That is NOT considered harassmentand or griefing, that's considered inforcing the Laws of a Mayours city. The harassment and abuse and Griefing is the calling of names, the swearing, the Camping out a city and being nasty and having a bad attitude twords everyone.
I don't pay $60.00 dollars a month for abuse. If I wanted to be abused, I would have stayed with my ex-husband and got it for free. NO One deserves to be abused, harassed, or griefed and mis-treated AT all.

...you are the reason i signed up to the forum...my heart goes out to you for putting up with this $h*t...and i agree....not just the bounty hunters but ALL who behave in such a manner...after reading the OP..i signed on..commented ...and created my own posting"inappropriate behaviour"...alot of hits went to it...but SOE deleted it for some strange reason...
i have had 3 bad experiences in the first 2 months of playing this game...not as severe as your's...and it ires me to not only see this behaviour but to watch it go unnoticed ...not just by SOE but by other players who shrug it off as mere immaturity...we ALL must do something as a community on line...do not talk, invite to hunt. nor guild these rotten lil' SOB's...report any and all occurences IMMEDIATELY..so maybe with a flood of reports SOE will be forced to start policing their playing fields..as they truely should...
RynnnDraggon is a great mayor..and seems like an honourable person....KUDOS to you for being a solid politician....hard to come by this day in age....

But what I'm saying is that the city ban system is designed so that mayors can use it however they want. If you don't ban BHs for hunting, that's your choice. If someone else does ban them, that's their choice. It's the mayor's perogative to ban people for whatever reason they like. Maybe the mayor doesn't like the person's hairstyle. I admit it would be quite silly, but the mayor could ban the person if they wanted to.
